Taylor Swift Gets Her Moment

After last night’s outburst from Kanye West, who jumped onstage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to proclaim that Beyonce should have won, a lot of folks were upset that Taylor was not only totally disrespected on national television, but that she didn’t even get to finish what she wanted to say.

Proving what a class act she is, Beyonce, who ultimately won for Video of the Year at the VMAs later in the evening yesterday, said she remembered what it was like being 17 and being on the stage with Destiny’s Child and how it was one of the most exciting moments of her life. She then stepped aside to let Taylor “have her moment” for winning Best Female Video. Kudos, Beyonce!

Recounting the incident later on, Taylor quipped: “I was standing on stage and I was really excited because I’d just won the award and then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn’t excited anymore after that.”
