Taylor Swift’s Big Week

Taylor SwiftWhat a week it’s been for Taylor Swift! The 20-year-old country pop star achieved two milestones this week: an induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and receiving three CMT Music Award noms.

On Tuesday, the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame announced that Taylor would be receiving the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards on June 17. Even though she can’t even (legally) toast her success, Taylor is being honored by the organization for writing or co-writing every song on her two multiplatinum albums, Taylor Swift and Fearless. And, she’ll be honored alongside music legends like Phil Collins and producer Phil Ramone, who recently worked with teen blues singer Nikki Yanofsky.

Taylor also led the nominations at the CMT Music Awards, announced this week, tying with Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum for the most number of noms received by an artist this year. After CMT’s overall list of nominees were announced last month, fans narrowed down the nominees to smaller groups — meaning Taylor is one of CMT’s fans’ favorites musicians. Surprised?

Our girl is also helping the Nashville flood recovery efforts, donating $500,000 to relief organizations and agreeing to appear in Nashville Rising, a benefit concert next month hosted by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

All this while working on her third album, which Taylor recently said she would be putting the finishing touches on this summer. The new album’s inspiration? Why “boys and love,” of course.
