Sure, AMC's zombie series was something of a letdown after all its Comic-Con build-up: Some of the episodes were plodding, and of course there was the drama of showrunner Frank Darabont getting fired. But the source material -- Robert Kirkman's comic series -- is unbreakable, and when the episodes had the right blend of sex, petty human greed/betrayal, and scary undead, they killed.
Plus, it's not as if having a speculative fiction show on the roster would've been out of place: Game of Thrones made it onto this year's list.
We're gonna refer to these five talented actors as one entity to avoid repetition. Over the course of the series' seven-season run, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Josh Radnor have all delivered Emmy-worthy performances that are absurd, smart, silly, and so indicative of the Millennial generation.
If any of them could've won, we'd consider it a victory for the whole show, which is one of the best examples of collaboration in comedy currently on TV.
Really, he deserves a nomination just for being Nathan Fillion, but we'll settle for getting it as smug, sharp crime novelist Rick Castle.
Mae is more mature than most of her contemporaries (she's only 23), and she is undoubtedly the brightest star of NBC's Parenthood. Which is ironic, considering the dark plot that her character has handled this season, including that car crash.
The show's biggest star, Sean made us realize that GoT was serious business. Then, of course, there was his character's... We won't spoil it for those who haven't yet tuned in. Suffice to say, it's Emmy-worthy.
