Sure is autistic. Sorry for all those who have not lived with both a typical child and one with this disorder. I know first hand, by the pics of her, her expression, lack of proper social gestures and her eye contact that she HAS THIS DISORDER. You will see in time, ask any PARENT EXPERT. It can even happen to the CRUISES.

I agree Charlotte… it seems like Suri is more upset at the pap situation during the late evening… I love seeing pics of Suri, but maybe they should keep her home more in the evening since she gets so distraught.

Suri seems to not mind the paps very much during the day, which is a very good thing!! The problem seems to come in the evening when their flashes hurt her eyes and when she’s most likely overtired from being kept out so late. I saw a video from the evening they went to downtown Nobu for dinner and she was crying!! That bothered me, but pictures like this are a joy to see!! Suri is a beautiful child!!

I think some people want to see pictures of Suri at all costs, whether she’s unhappy or not. Personally, I would prefer NOT to see the pictures and NOT have Suri cry, but that’s just me and just my opinion!

Thanks Hana for the pictures. They are so cute. I am glad her parents are not shielding her. You can see that she is learning to deal with it all. Way to go. Better than shielding her when she is younger and then she starts getting into fights with paps when she get older.

Looika, you are right, when they move back to LA, I will surely get Suri withdrawal. . LOL. Luckily, I don’t have to worry about that for the next 6 months.

My next door neighbours little boy has Aspergers, and throws the most terrible tantrums, its hard when they go out because anything can trigger off a tantrum , he gives his parents a bit of a hard time and sees a psychologist every week. I think this autism saga should be laid to rest now and anyone who can’t see that Suri is a happy , healthy and delightful child, and always has been, then i thinkthese people have a bit of a problem themselves.

Wow, now there’s a new sighting of Suri at JJ. This time she braves herself by waving to paps. I am getting used to seeing Suri’s pics nowadays every so often. I might be having Suri-withdrawal if she suddenly disappear from public for a long time. LOL

anabel – little confused by your comment “No one can say Suri acts autistic in these pictures” Exactly what does an autistic person look like in photos? (I’ve seen several, and you’d never guess there’s a thing different about any of them).

I’m not sure if this is related to another post (your comment), but I can’t see how autism can be “diagnosed/ruled out” simply by pictures. 1 in 150 kids are diagnosed with autism and ASD (autism-spectrum disorders). Countless adults have it too without even knowing it because there is such limited research of the occurance in adults. Yes, autism is screened for in younsters, but for disorders like Aspergers (and ASD disorders), it’s quite easy to miss, especially in a child, even more comon to miss it if that child is female. There’s no blood test, jst a series of neur-psych tests done over several months to see if there are patterns or changes; even then it ca be hard to diagnose in some patients.

Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying that Suri does/doesn’t have it, but I think it’s a rather inate comment to say that one doesn’t have it simply by a photo – anyone can be the face of autism – even thouse who talk up a storm! (Autism comes in many forms and severities, though is often remembered as a “silent in their own world” stereotype. Those who are high functioning actually make it through life well into adulthoood amazingly without diagnosis at that point if ever.)

my double life as a former medical researcher rears it’shead, I’m always trying to educate when the chance comes.

i think she enjoys picking her nose. there were other pics from the park where it looks like she might be picking her nose. i know some people find it endearing. hopefully, she’s not eating it too!
