The show began with the teams finding out that they would have to fly to
Dubrovnik, Croatia. They all rushed from the pit stop to places where they could either call for a flight reservation or get online to book a flight.
TK & Rachel worked well with Kynt & Vyxsin to check everything online together. Both teams are “off the beaten path” so they seemed like the obvious teams to accept each other and work together.
Ron & Christina still had some communication issues, but they seem to be trying very hard to work through them. Nate & Jennifer were having more and more trouble getting along. And brother/sister team, Azaria & Hendekea were even having issues. I think the stress of the race was starting to get to all of them.

After a lot of jockeying between places to book flights, TK & Rachel and Donald & Nicholas were on the flight that left first, but would arrive in Dubrovnik at the same time as the others. Azaria & Hendekea were accidentally booked in business class and had to rush to get economy class tickets. Unfortunately for them, there were no more economy tickets available so they missed the second flight.
The flight with TK, Rachel, Nicholas & Donald was late and they arrived too late for their connecting flight.
The teams on the second flight, Nathan & Jennifer, Kynt & Vyxsin and Ron & Christina all arrived in Croatia on time and hurried to find the next clue. It was a Roadblock that only one team member could perform. That person had to help repair damaged stone walls to get the next clue.
The next thing the teams had to do was to make their way to the roof of the Fort of St. Lawrence. From there they had to ride a tandem zip line across the water to find the next clue. (It looked like fun!!)
The next clue was a Detour. They had to choose between “Short & Long” or “Long & Short”.
In Short & Long, the teams would have to repel down from the roof of the Fort, then follow a marked path to the city wall. Then, they would have to use a rope ladder to scale the wall, then make their way on foot trough town to a plaza to find the next clue.
In Long & Short, the teams would use the tandem zip line to get to the water below. Then they would swim to choose a small fishing boat. They would row it around the city wall to the harbor and run to the same plaza to get the next clue.
From there, they had to travel four miles by taxi to a large, stone cross at the edge of the city to check in at the pit stop. The teams arrived in this order:
- Ron & Christina (they won a catamaran)
- Kynt & Vyxsin
- Nathan & Jennifer (they arrived second, but since they didn’t take the proper form of transportation to the pit stop so they had to backtrack and do it over.)
- TK & Rachel
- Nicholas & Donald
- Azaria & Hendekea (They were eliminated)
I’m shocked that Azaria & Hendekea were the ones to go this week. They were truly one of the strongest teams in the race. But, I’ll get to ask for their take on the race and their performance when I interview them today. Be sure to check back here to see what they have to say.
