The show began with the teams leaving the pit stop in Croatia. They found out that they would have to travel to Ancona, Italy to get the next clue.
When the teams began to arrive at the bus station, they found that it was closed so they would have to wait. Only the first three teams made it on the first bus. But when they all got to the ferry, all five teams were on the same one. This was one of those times when things were equalized in the race.

When they got the next clue, they found out that they would be driving themselves to Empoli, Italy and go an airfield to get the next clue. The teams were given a Blackberry device on which they would get a message sometime during the race. But they were not allowed to use it for anything else. (Wow! That would be tempting!)
TK & Rachel lost their clue and were afraid that it would put them completely out of the race. They had to backtrack to try to find it while all the other teams were on their way to Empoli. Luckily for them, when they got to the café where they had asked directions, someone had the clue paper for them.
On the way, they each got a text message from loved ones at home. The teams ran into closed roads and detours and some got to Empoli early, some were really late.
The next clue was a Fast Forward and a Roadblock. Only one team member could perform the task of hang gliding over the countryside to see the name of the next destination from the air to get the next clue.
The Fast Forward (the only one in this season’s race) told them that if they decided to use it they would have to find their way to a studio and get a tattoo before heading straight to the pit stop. Don & Nicholas decided to take it. They both had to gat the capital letters, FF on their shoulders before going to the pit stop in Florence.
The next clue told them to drive to the town of Vinci and find Leonardo’s birthplace. (How cool!) There, they found a Detour. They had to choose between “Invention” and “Tradition.”
In Invention, the teams had to go to a replica of a crane invented by Leonardo and assemble it to life a large stone off the ground to get the next clue. They would have to read the clue on the bottom of the rock using a mirror.
In Tradition, they had to go to a courtyard and learn a tradition flag routine to get the next clue. (It looked really tough.)
Kynt & Vyxsin had their car break down and TK & Rachel had a flat tire on the way. It was a tight race to the pit stop. The teams arrived at the pit stop in this order:
- Nicholas & Don (They won a trip to Cancun)
- Nathan & Jennifer
- Ron & Christina
- TK & Rachel
- Kynt & Vyxsin (But, Hurray!! It was a non-elimination!)
Kynt & Vyxsin were told that sometime during the next leg of the race, they would be given a Speed Bump. It’s a new task for this season, so we’ll have to be sure to watch to find out!! Oh, no!! They’re my favorite team!! They just have to get through it…

This was a very good episode of the amazing race and the following week, when the goth team was eliminated was excellent. They worked hard, but in the end they finished last. I follow this show as well. Look forward to the end!!

TK/Rachel- More like sanctimonious piece of roadkill. They got more breaks than any other team.
