The Beautiful Life:TBL, which stars Mischa Barton, is produced by Ashton Kutcher, and airs on the CW, premiered to lower ratings than Melrose Place.
The Beautiful Life:TBL averaged 1.462 million viewers, compared to the average 2.3 million viewers who tuned in to the premiere episode of Melrose Place. In fact, the second episode of Melrose also beat TBL, as it averaged 1.8 million viewers.
I didn’t watch TBL, nor do I wish it any ill will in the ratings, but I do think it sheds interesting light on the importance of ratings, especially to the media.
Did you watch TBL? If so, what did you think in comparison to Melrose Place? Which one has a lasting home in the CW, you think?

No i love the beatiful life please dont ended it i really love it its sooo awsome!!!!!!!!!!
Well … I actually saw both hows and to be honest I have no freaking idea why TBL does worse then Melrose while it’s in general better put down together. If you compare the both pilots I’d say Melrose really sucked ass (such a waste of time) and TBL actually had, I believe the most refreshing pilot on the CW of the year. The crappy acting of the male cast ruins quite a lot though for both shows
I love The Beautiful Life. I am already hooked. I don’t watch Melrose Place as it has never caught my attention. I find TBL to be very addictive and youthful.
