It was rumored that The Big Bopper’s son, Jay Richardson was planning on auctioning off the used casket on eBay for a tidy little sum.

Fear not, the rumors can be laid to rest now, along with The Big Bopper, because Richardson says that there’s little chance the casket will be sold now.

Possibly due to the fact that he received a lot of backlash for thinking about having such a distasteful auction.

Richardson says he may donate the casket to a museum, compress it with a heavy-duty crusher, or take it out on a boat and toss it into the ocean.
