The Dos and Don’ts of Drama, with Degrassi: Pre-Prom Lacks the Sex and Death of the Real One

For some reason, in high-school world graduation comes before prom — usually because more interesting shit goes down when characters are in their prom dresses as opposed to caps and gowns. Then again, there were some interesting moments in “Take A Bow” parts 1 and 2. Riley finally comes out to his mom! Owen trains Anya to bulk up for the army (because somehow she signed up without any physical test…?) by screaming at her like a drill sergeant. Katie obsesses over losing her virginity to Drew at prom night. And Fiona wants to start things up again with Charlie, only to get massively disappointed by a misunderstanding involving a life-size portrait of her.
