Happy Mother’s Day, indeed. The always expanding Duggar Family is now expecting their 18th child. Right now, she’s about six weeks along and everything seems to be going well; the last baby they had is only 9 months old. So, obviously, in their highly regimented home of automatons, there is a block of time scheduled for “getting bizzay.”
I have mixed feelings about all these kids. Personally, if I could afford that many kids and WANTED that many kids, I would adopt. There are too many needy children out there that need a home that’s obviously loving and caring out to grab every television appearance like this one. I think it’s irresponsible and selfish to pop out that many kids rather than take in the ones that really need help. Plus, HELLOOOO??!?!? Her uterus must look like a freaking mud puddle at this point – JimBob is pretty much just throwing a hotdog down a hallway. Gross.
But that’s just my opinion – what do you think?
I think religion is just a cash cow and a form of governmental control.I myself know that anyone that can,will milk the system and expect others to flip the bill. I have built nothing but hatred towards society on praising baby makers and congratulating them,even when it is clear that they really are not capable of doing things for themselves. I myself refuse to say it`s my personal experience alone,where as,the government allows such behaviors because it will either create state property(inmates) or future soldiers in their wars.This is why “families” get all the praise and tax benefits. All those bully jocks and popular kids in high school that had to drop out because of pregnancy through fornication occurred,glorified sex and picked on the “nerd” reap all the rewards,while the “nerd” did the right thing and finished school without babymaking and are still taxed greater so that the monies go to the “jocks” with an exponential amount of children.This is very upsetting and from a panned out view suggest that people still accept animalistic behavior above civil. You should be blessed if you have a child but not rewarded any incentives to continue to have more. How free is too free?,is the question…Freedom is a clear sign to exploit something until it is taken away… I am mostly annoyed because people abuse their “rights” and screw it up for people who did follow our ever contradictive law and constitution,which in my opinion,is an outdated piece of trash…We need something brand new that fits our timeline–not revisions.

It’s not difficult to copy and paste from the State Department’s study – though your first sentence could have used some spellchecking – but the point is what? If you read further in that study, you’ll find that legalizing these illegal aliens will not significantly reduce the tax burden on the US.
Are you saying that people who have 18 children are valuable because they are contributing to the tax base?

They’re “OVER POPULATING” in the U.S. You think this is appropriate for them to be here ripping the government off and spending BILLIONS and BILLIONS of LEGAL TAXPAYERS money!!!!

The largest costs are Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the unisured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC and free school lunches ($1.9 billion) the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion). The illegal aliens creating more problems stealing Americans Social Security Numbers and from the dead, drug trafficing, gangs and murders.
You say the Duggars are a problem? Look who’s taking advantage of the United States.

THANK GOD there are people on here with some education and worldly common sense!! I wholeheartedly agree! One CAN be a believer without being a baby factory.
The Duggars are a disgrace to those (Christians and others) who work so tirelessly to help those who are truly in need in their communities and throughout the world. I applaud those couples that use their HEADS and not their LOINS to make decisions when having children. HOORAY for the BRAIN!

Also, you undermine your credibility when you refer to ‘latraviata’ as ‘Ms trlalala’, because it demonstrates you either don’t know that ‘La Traviata’ is actually an opera, or don’t care to get the name right. Either way I’m starting to think you’re a teenager headed for Brigham Young University yourself.
jfab: I know it’s more comfortable for you to live in a world where a person seems ‘nice’ if they write about their parents on their website, even if they are a wackjob white supremacist, and to dismiss what’s happening in the world around you as long as it’s not causing you immediate physical harm or impinging on your ability to buy 99-cent hotdogs down at Wal-Mart. And I don’t say that as sarcastically as you probably think.
But there is a bigger picture here.
Edmund Burke said: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” When our only standard for behaviour is that “It’s not [physically] hurting anyone right this minute…”, we are willfully ignoring the long-term damage that ignorance, fundamentalism, discrimination, xenophobia and other insidious – but frequently invisible until it’s too late – plagues do to society.
I don’t care whether the Duggars are on tv or not; I just do not want them to be held up as examples of anything – not child-rearing, not morality, not religion, not lifestyle, not financial planning – to anyone, because they are a very very poor example to follow.

Well the Duggar/Gothard method won’t do the trick.
Start with some decent sex education and don’t homeschool. Raising children has everything to do with:
Love them, use common sense and offer them structure and try to have them adjusted to society without destroying their personality.

Get some education.
Whoever excused their media escapades by saying the media approached THEM, rather than the other way around, is grasping for logic. Just because the media wants to film you or speak with you doesn’t mean you have to let them. They were allowed into the Duggar’s home because the Duggars don’t seem to care about the effect all this attention might have on their children.
The absolute worst was when they announced the pending arrival of kid #18 on national television – and that was how their kids found out!!! Awful.
Let’s face it: they’re pimping out their kids for money. If that’s Godlike, well, to each her own.
