Happy Mother’s Day, indeed. The always expanding Duggar Family is now expecting their 18th child. Right now, she’s about six weeks along and everything seems to be going well; the last baby they had is only 9 months old. So, obviously, in their highly regimented home of automatons, there is a block of time scheduled for “getting bizzay.”
I have mixed feelings about all these kids. Personally, if I could afford that many kids and WANTED that many kids, I would adopt. There are too many needy children out there that need a home that’s obviously loving and caring out to grab every television appearance like this one. I think it’s irresponsible and selfish to pop out that many kids rather than take in the ones that really need help. Plus, HELLOOOO??!?!? Her uterus must look like a freaking mud puddle at this point – JimBob is pretty much just throwing a hotdog down a hallway. Gross.
But that’s just my opinion – what do you think?
I really don’t care if Jim Bob paid only 1 cent for his house. I don’t care how many children they have. They’re the ones that have to raise them the best they know how. So how’s that harming you or anyone else? That’s their business. I still feel they do love their children and raising them in a Godly home. When they’re grown, they’ll have their own interest and move out of their parent’s home. If not, it’s their choice. Only they can live for themselves and what’s working and not working for them. Just like you all only you can make choices what’s going to work, or not work in your own lives.

Well the Duggar/Gothard method won’t do the trick.
Start with some decent sex education and don’t homeschool. Raising children has everything to do with:
Love them, use common sense and offer them structure and try to have them adjusted to society without destroying their personality.

Having truck loads of kids isn’t going to solve all the problems of wayward teens that are already in society, so that has no logic either. The Duggar’s are doing NOTHING to help society. They are only breeding more and more people like themselves. More “Gothardites” as you could call them.
Ms. trlalala, excuse me. I meant to say try to “SOLVE ALL” the violence with the teens in the United States. I would like to see you come up the solution.
Ms. trlalala, you’re are the dumb one here. Wendy did make very good important points what’s has been happening with the teens, etc. You think you’re such a know-it-all. Go ahead and solve the violence, etc, etc in the United States with the troubled teens.
Regina, Apparently, the Duggars wanted their own children, all 18 of them. That’s their choice. Like I mentioned before, I don’t know much about Bill Gothard. I did read some of his website, I thought it was very nice of him to write about his parents. I’ll read more about him. Even tho, that’s what the Duggars choose to do, that’s their choice. I still am not going to knock them for it. I still feel they’re for their children. What I’ve read how the Duggars gotten into the media is when Jim Bob was senator, a camera crew is the one that wanted to get to know about them. It wasn’t the other way around. The didn’t go and say, Oh take pictures so we can broadcast our family on television. The media asked them, and they accepted. There has been alot more families that are showing on the air lately. The families are getting donations, new houses, etc. just the same. I noticed no one is complaining about them. Regardless they believe in the Lord or not. It doesn’t bother me about the Duggars, or the other families getting donations. It’s the publics choice if that’s what they choose to do. It doesn’t matter to me of how many children anyone has. Whatever other people do in their life it’s their business.
Actually, you’re so bothered about children needed to be adoped, troubled, and needs help go for it. Adopt as many children as you can to give them a good home, seems like you’re the one is complaining.
Organized? Clean? Christian? Is it really appropriate to keep holding these out as laudable achievements?
I think the problem for some of us watching the Duggars is that these aren’t necessarily the only criteria against which we should measure the population of the world. And make no mistake – the Duggars are all about ‘population’. The Quiverfull movement to which they subscribe is about building up the population of white Christians in the US: “Population is a preoccupation for many Quiverfull believers, who trade statistics on the falling white birthrate in European countries like Germany and France.”, according to journalists.
I have never seen one shred of evidence that Jim Bob, and especially Michelle, love their children except in the most generic (the “all children are beautiful”) way.
And to be quite honest I find this offensive – the world doesn’t need another 18 generically fundamentalist Christians who believe that the Bible is literal truth and that their greatest purpose in life is to do missionary work to convert other people to their (discriminatory) beliefs (again, see the Duggar website and the Quiverfull organization for evidence of missionary work).
Many people in this discussion have said, as part of their argument in favour of the Duggars, things like “What are they doing to you?” and “They aren’t hurting you, so why don’t you leave them alone?”
My response to that is: Conservative Christians with an agenda to repopulate North America – and Europe, if it comes to that – because they don’t like the decline in numbers of white Christians, and who raise vast numbers of barely-educated children who think the Bible is the literal truth, are in fact doing a LOT of harm to the rest of us!
We don’t need more people who think that white Christians are superior to everyone else (and I say that as a person who was raised as a ‘white Christian’) and who have had no exposure to anything but the Bible. These are the people who discriminate against homosexuals, prevent true equality for people of colour, and encourage women to stay barefoot and pregnant – in other words, these are the people who want us to continue to be mired in our own limitations.
I think there are more important things in life than being clean and organized, and one of them is embracing diversity (not trying to fill the world with as many white Christian babies as possible).
There is a certain point at which we have to ask ourselves whether smiley children and clothes on people’s backs are actually ENOUGH. And whether they hide a greater issue.
$133 a year for taxes?? Hmm..and you Duggar zombies think that’s OK?? Yeah, let them continue to mindlessly breed..because that is ALL the Duggar’s have as a claim to fame. They are not helping anyone, only getting publicity because they have unprotected sex. Yeah, that’s something to boast about for sure. :0
As a matter of fact, I posted a link on this blog (quite a few posts up) that was a direct link to the Arkansas Tax Portal that outlines personal property tax especially. I was able to type in the Duggar name and found that they paid $133 for their 20-acre place and stupidly large house in 07. If you’re willing to do a little research, you can find just about anything.
Lindsey, if you can’t see the hard times that befall so many people while this family is having 18+ kids, then you are just as dumb as jfab and the like. I have no problem with a family raising Christian children with values, I have a problem with that family making 18+ kids instead of doing things like adopting or mentoring other troubled children.
Wanna spread the word of God and make a TRUE impact on society? Help those who need the help!!!

Although you claim Regina and Misty not being intelligent or having common sense. You don’t seem to have any understanding how emotional abuse is defined:
Emotional child abuse is maltreatment which results in impaired psychological growth and development.
This is exactly what happens in the Duggar household.
There only guidance comes from the bible and Bill Gothard.

Jesus everywhere, when the drink, eat, dress, have sex, there is no room for anything else, not even for normal things like peer interacting, healthy development, stimuli to form their own opinion, the Duggar children are completely deprived from even the basic conditions to grow into adulthood in a healthy fashion.
And yes, the numerous children are meant, like pastor Debby Fisher, to turn America into a theocracy.
Gothard by telling people to breed as much as possible to form an army of god, Debbie Fisher uses another method by violantly brainwash the children, the same difference.
Bothe the Fisher and the Gothard kids are brainwashed little sods and that makes me very angry!!
But hey, it is christian and therefor okay, isn’t it?
Btw I have no problem with religions or a relgious upbringing. I was raised catholic and I don’t look back in anger, au contraire!!

jfab, I totally agree. Regina and Mitsy, you both keep making all of these assumptions about this family, that can’t be backed up by anything, and you sound like total idiots. Regina, how much have your taxes gone up since they moved to your area? What has really changed in your area since they moved there? You say they’re a drain on your resources, so let’s hear it! I joined Mary-Kay a couple months ago so that I could (1) get their stuff half-off (2) get my friends stuff half-off (3) get tax write-offs on certain things (phone bill, house decorations, food, gasoline, etc.)…uh oh I’m draining Regina’s resources…oh no, I’m cheating the system!…let’s start a blog on Lindsey and how she’s a bad person!…Let’s waste more time taking about a family who is creating healthy, compassionate, family-oriented, business-minded young ladies and gentlemen instead of focusing on all of the teen pregnancies, teen murders, teen drug problems, and teen suicides that are CLEARLY more prevalent today than some 20-person family in Arkansas. Wow, some people (Mitsy and Regina cough cough) clearly have their priorities straight…where did you two get your education? I’d like to get some of THAT….
Regina, Yes, I do have a lot of common sense. I do know what’s going on. How are the Duggars draining the resources? Since you know ALL THEIR financial income, show the proof, and the tax write off of their home for Church purposes!!!! Or not taking care of their children’s emotional needs? Do you see them living in a pig pen? Eating out of garbage cans? Having rags on the children’s backs? Do you hear Jim Bob or Michelle cursing at their children? Or have broken bones, being dirty, rats and roaches running around in their home? Or see black and blue marks on the children? Apparently they seem very happy to me. They’re not on welfare, they have their own businesses making their own money. There is so many that I do know that are on welfare draining the system for their wrong doings and parents abusing their children. You say you’re a nurse? Apparently, you don’t have the education, nor the common sense to see the difference what a FUNCTIONAL home is than a DYSFUNCTIONAL home is all about.
The Duggar family has a very loving atmosphere in their home, it’s their foundation in their children’s lives.
Since the Duggars are in the public eye, if they did something wrong, don’t you think CPS-Child Protection Services would be at their door step? You need to get your head out of the sand!!!!
No, jfab, I am not a mean-spirited person at all. HA! I’m a nurse for crying out loud! The nicest person you’ll ever meet. However, I do represent the 3/4 of the world that can see that this family is a drain on resources that we ALL need to live our daily lives. Apparently you do not have the education or the common sense to see that just because a family is “Godly” that they are not also cheating the system in order to fulfill their desire to repopulate the globe (i.e, making their home a church for tax purposes- is JB a preacher? NO!).
Futhermore, the Duggars are more interested in humping like rabbits than taking care of those children’s emotional needs as they age- seems to me that after the infant stage they forget that they are there! A child becoming a parent at the age of 10 is NO WAY for that child to grow up healthy- I don’t care what religion or “prophet” they follow! If God isn’t a mainstay in their life as a young person, they will need them by their 20s when they realize that Mommy & Daddy brainwashed them in their own little bubble. As I said, apparently you and others like you don’t have the education or common sense to see it. What a shame!
Regina, I can see, and the Duggar family are very well off, spiritually, etc, etc and etc. Seems like the devil has put a pitch fork up your rear end!!!! You are very mean spirited person. Also, you can’t handle seeing a VERY HAPPY FAMILY!!!! Don’t watch their programs, then we don’t have to hear about your sad, sorry self!!!! You’re not living in the Duggar family household, and neither is anyone else on this snark blog. What’s it to you how they live their lives? There’s no way you’re going to change them, or anyone else. I’d rather see families that do have a beautiful, content, close knit, Godly family bond, then hearing about what families are hurting and killing their children.

Ya know the thing is, I’m NOT against church or religion or people teaching their kids values. I actually go to church myself (surprise), but what I get so totally sick of is this extreme logic in that having dozens of kids somehow makes you more Godly or pleasing to God. How is having more kids than you can possibly handle honoring God? If the Duggar’s were really trying to help others, they would adopt some kids who needed a home. They aren’t doing that though. They are only adding to their own kids’ burdens by spewing out more and more. My only hope is that Michelle’s time clock will explode as far as having anymore, but I’m sure they won’t curtail their sex drive or use birth control in order to prevent another birth from happening. Their justification for having the kids (God isn’t stopping them) is the most pathetic and insulting excuse I can think of. It insults the very intelligence of most mainstream Christians. My own Primitive Baptist church does not preach about having a truckload of kids or not using birth control. The Duggar’s are brainwashed by Mr. Gothard and that is plainly evident by their stupidity.

I don’t know really much about Bill Gothard. I read what the other woman wrote. I looked at and read what he had on his website, he sounded good to me. He spoke very highly about his parents. His parents raised him in a Godly home, and it sounded like it was Bill Gothard’s calling to preach about the Lord. I don’t really know how long the Duggars have been using Bill Gothard principals. I’m not knocking them, it seems to be working for them. I’m going what I see on television and on the Duggar’s website. I’m really am impressed of them having that many children handling them in a Godly manner. Actually, they’re not hurting you, nor anyone else. The children are actually happy. You can’t really knock them when the parents are taking very good of their children.
Well, seems like we all had our opinions about the Duggar family. I’m still going to watch their programs on television. They even wrote a book about their life. When I get a chance I’m going to buy their book to read. Nice chatting with everyone. When I read the comments about their book, most of the comments were positive, then negative.

P.S. Some people who can’t have kids SHOULD NOT adopt. Maybe there’s a reason they can’t have any. Being overly permissive isn’t a good thing and I don’t support the notion of tatoos for anyone, but especially not for young kids. Some parents don’t know how to say no, but they will wonder what they did wrong when the kid starts stealing cars or getting into other kinds of trouble with the law. I’d say that is an extreme example against the Duggar’s. But, the Duggar’s are not the poster family for how to live. Mindless breeding is not something to be bragging about.
