The Envelope talks Oscar nods

If you live in the Los Angeles area, you may have heard of The Envelope, which is put out by the L.A. Times.

The new issue comes out on Wednesday November 12th, and it features a gorgeous picture of Angelina Jolie on the cover. You can see a sneak peek here:

Inside they’ll be talking about the “big O” – the Oscars. With Angelina on the cover and Oscars on the inside, obviously there is still some buzz about the possibility of Angelina being nominated for her role in Changeling.

I’m not sure if The Envelope is available outside of the general L.A. area, but if you’re local you can keep an eye out for the issue this week. For the rest of us (because I know there’s no way I’ll find it up here), we can hope their website will have at least some of the article posted online.

(Thanks, niemiec idiota!)

    UNDER MOD:

Changeling isn’t the only Angelina film up for an Oscar – (The Hollywood Reporter) KFP has been submitted for consideration for best animated Oscar . . .

Changeling isn’t the only Angelina film up for an Oscar –

    The Hollywood Reporter:

Fourteen films have been submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in hopes of securing one of the 3 nominations available in the best animated feature category.

The contenders are “Bolt,” “Delgo,” “Dragon Hunters,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Igor,” “KUNG FU PANDA,” “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,” “$9.99,” “The Sky Crawlers,” “Sword of the Stranger,” “The Tale of Despereaux,” “Waltz With Bashir” “WALL-E” and “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!”

Because there are at least 8 but fewer than 16 submissions, a maximum of 3 movies can share the spotlight when the Oscar nominations are announced Jan. 22.

Disney/Pixar’s “Wall-E” is widely considered the frontrunner to win the Oscar. Competition for the other 2 nominee slots will include such boxoffice hits as Blue Sky Studio’s “Horton,” a Fox release, and DreamWorks Animation’s “KUNG FU PANDA” and “Madagascar” sequel, which were released by Paramount.

About getting the LA Times and the Envelope (I don’t know if the Envelope is separate from or inside the LA Times), most major cities like SF/NY/Chicago have newsstands that carry major newspapers from other major cities. Even mid-sized Oakland has a place with newspapers from other California cities and Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. (NY Times is everywhere), etc. Otherwise, you might have to email or phone the LA Times to see if they’ll sell and mail you a single issue.

I really hope that Angie Clint and Changeling will get nominated this time. I will be very disappointed if they don’t.

Nadia where is that video, where is AH so I can see what you are talking about please thank you.

Nominations for Angie, Clint and the film would be great, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed. It would be so nice to see them on the red carpet too. Still, since the Oscar can sometimes be weird in its choices, if the nominations don’t come, it doesn’t take away the fact that Changeling is a great movie.

Dare we dream of a nomination? That would be wonderful.

I want to share to you that I saw video on AH and she kook so softly, happy and content. she said how Brad is so great dad and how they will have more kids when the time comes.
Just watch it and you will see why Brad fallen for her anyway.

  13. By irma

I will lose faith to Oscar awards if they will snub Angie in Changeling. I hope the mag Envelope is available thru the internet.
    God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
