Today is the release of The Game Plan on DVD. I finally got to see it in theaters the other day and I must say, I was very pleased with this movie. Sure, others have been comparing it to The Pacifier, with Vin Diesel, and I can see where they got that from, but there was something about this movie that just got to me. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would watch it again in a heartbeat. This is also a movie that I will be adding to our DVD collection.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson’s character was just hilarious to me and I thought he did an excellent job of playing a jerk. I also think he did a great job of playing a man who was trying to figure out this whole father thing that was dropped at his doorstep. We got to watch his character evolve from a self-absorbed, womanizing, party lovin’ bachelor into a father, who put his ego to the side and finally was able to answer the question, ‘What’s the best thing that has ever happened to you?"
Of course, it helps that Dwayne is nice to look at and has that amazing winning smile. But, I don’t believe his looks over-shadowed his acting. I am definitely looking forward to movie projects he has in the future.

Madison Pettis, who played the little girl who showed up at the famous football player’s door as his long lost, I’ve-never-heard-of-you daughter, once again showed us that she can shine and has acting abilities that will take her far I believe.
We got to see her display a range of emotions in this film. She was stubborn, sneaky, adorable, sad, happy, etc. She was a little girl who desperately wanted her dad in her life, and through a number of funny and heart-warming moments, she was able to make a permanent impact on her dad and gained a place in his heart and home.
She steals the show in the Disney Channel Series "Corey in the House" but her and Dwayne Johnson, did a great job of sharing scenes.
The Game Plan made me laugh and cry and realize how important the bond between a daughter and her father is. I loved it!
