The Good Wife 1.08 “Appearances”

Discussion
This episode of The Good Wife featured more scenes with Cary (played by Matt Czuchry, Logan on Gilmore Girls), which was fantastic. He and Alicia worked together on witness prep – peppering witnesses with questions like in court. Alicia thought Cary was being too competitive against her, to the detriment of their witnesses, but it’s his line of questioning that inevitably leads to helping their client. Meanwhile, Alicia has mixed feelings about her husband potentially being freed to come home on bail
- Cary was far more intelligent and cunning in this episode
- I liked that it wasn’t just Alicia saving the day here
- Alicia’s kids could find themselves in hot water with their detective work
- Alicia is still standing by her husband but i wonder if she will welcome him home. Which choice sets a better example for her kids?
- Do you think Will has feelings for Alicia?

I’m really liking the kids’ involvement. I’m not exactly sure what they are doing but its a good storyline. I like the chemistry they are developing both between Alicia and Will and then the awkward chemistry she has with her husband. I hope they keep both relationships low-key (non-dramatic) for a while and keep the good cases coming. I’ll always see Cary as Logan.

Loved the quiet moment between Alicia and Will on the bench outside of court. Sometimes you don’t have words to have a “moment”. I think they both had mixed feeling of the possibility of her husband coming home, but aren’t quite sure what they are, and might not even be able to admit to themselves what they are. The series is pacing the Alicia/Will relationship just right – They’ve got to resolve what her relationship is with her husband first. And we all know the couples we love are the ones that pine for one another, but for some reason can’t get together.
I liked the kids in the series, but I’m worried the son is getting in over his head. He’s playing with danger. Can’t say how much I look forward to the series each week. Go Logan!
