SWEEEEEETTT! The book publisher Waterstone’s website has now updated with J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter prequel, which sold for a ton of money in a charity auction this week (you can read more about the prequel’s other authors here). Here, in its entirety (800 words), is the Harry Potter Prequel.

what is the large golden bird suppose to be? is it a phoenix, standing for the OotP?
It probably was, it’s the only thing that would’ve made sense. Unless they had mockingjay pins haha.

I agree, I would like to see how tom riddle came about. I know that dumbledore went to the orphanage and got him and that the house where voltamort was in the beginning of the goblet of fire but I would like to hear more about the way he ended up at the orphanage and tell about his time at hogwarts with James,Sirius,Lilly,hagrid and the rest of the gang. Then end it with the blowing up of the potters house and hagrid taking Harry to privet drive to meet dumbledore.
Well, how tom ended up in the orphanage is quite obvious isn’t it’?
His mother gave birth to him there and then died, they did not know who his father was, ad he was not at hogwarts at the same time as sirius james and lily, he was there 50 years before harrys second year…

Great story! I would love to see something else about the lives of the Marauders! Maybe just a light read that would be sure to make you laugh. A lot of people want this but I would really not like it if she did, but some people want her to write about James Sirius, Lily Luna, Albus Severus, Rose & Hugo and their days at Hogwarts. Personally, it would probably cause more PostPotter Depression my way, just seeing that they all have kids now and everything. But anything Harry Potter will be something I cherish, haha!

I think she needs to write a book about lord voldemort, and why he became evil, and how he made all the horcruxes. what do you you guys think?
The sixth book explains how he came to hate muggles and reveals which of his intrinsic personality traits lead him to seek to dominate all others
What I really want to find out is, how did James get the invisibility cloak?
He got the invisibility cloak because he is a descendant of ignotus peveral, the original owner who the cloak was made for

This is so good! She really needs to write more. I’m thinking it was a full moon, so they were trying to get to Remus. Maybe Death Eaters were on the brooms. IDK. And to think that in a couple years Hagrid will use the exact same motercycle to get Harry after James and Lily’s death. :(
I think maybe this took place sometime close to evening, and it was a full moon, so James and Sirius were trying to get to Remus’s house or something, and that’s why they were going so fast. I think the guys on the broomsticks were Death Eaters and Voldemort sent them to kill them or something like that. Oh well. I guess we’ll never really know.
i not sure about sirius or james… but i more interesting with dumbledore on harry potter prequel… tell me more about dombledore family story, the connection of harry potter family which lead the deathly hollow! and how the ‘invinsible clothe’ on dumbledore?? tell more about that!!! that is most mysterious ever in harry potter story!!!
i’d like to read more books or stories about james and sirius at hogwarts or the 1 order of the phoenix!!!!
I don’t think there should be another book based on that Voldemort was never destroyed because i think that would ruin the story so far as the Harry Potter series are the best books, and film adaptations that have been created, I think there should be a prequel all about when Harry’s parents, Sirius, Remus, Regulus + Snape.. were at school and the first time Voldemort tried to take over the wizarding world, but that’s just my opinion :)

I bet they were in the Order, though they probably still are at school since it’s the year 1977. And the guys were probably Death Eaters. I can’t wait for pottermore so that we’ll see more of this sort :D. The dialogue here was fabulous! And it’s probably one of my favourite scenes in the HPverse. JKR is a genius, and James and Sirius are hilarious. I’ve read this so many times since it’s been up ^^

Yes. This is the real thing. It is mentioned in her wikipedia article. You might be noticing that it is untouched by an editor. Editing always improves works a great deal. This, however, is quite good on its own.
i agree. the passage “…both policemen in the pursuing car shouted ‘whoa!’” sounds like something a 14-year old would write. it’s not just that there’s no editing, this sounds like a completely different writer. if it is legit, it’s just odd that she would write so differently
Ben, if you read some of J.K’s un-edited work on her site, drafts e.t.c it reads just like this.

It’s really good, though I’d love there to be a prequel about when James and Lily were at school…
siince the first book and movie i have had something to look forward to over all the other many things in my life the harry potter series has come first, i have made sure i see it on the first day or all hell breaks lose. i loved this little piece of text. i get so wrapped up in the books every time i read them every time i see the movies i think they have cut parts off the movie off then i remember that that part was only in the book. it makes my physically sad to think that i will never have another harry potter book to read, to study with all my heart. i beg of you to bring out another harry potter book J.K.Rowling x :D the harry potter books are my life i think you so much for writing such magnificent books so many people would be lost without you J.K :D X X
This was short but sweet! lovely! As well as everyone else i hope there are more Harry Potter books in the future :) But for now I read fanfiction. I reccomend that every Harry potter fan gives it a go – its a website where fans can post their own stories about harry potter characters and read other fans’ stories – just type fanfiction into google – first website that comes up- and the best bit is that you dont even have to sign up , though it’s completely free if you do!
P.S Fanfiction.com have in no way asked me to do this, this is completely my own reccomendation
