The ‘Hunger Games’ District 4 and 5 Tributes Have Been Cast, with Jacqueline Emerson as Foxface

Last week saw Lionsgate filling in the ranks for the 24 tributes of The Hunger Games, including one major casting announcement. Jacqueline Emerson will play Foxface, the District 5 tribute who gives Katniss a whole lot of trouble during the Games, thanks mostly to her skill at blending into the Arena and stealing supplies from other tributes without getting caught.

Aside from voicing a part in the short-lived Father of the Pride TV series, Emerson has had little acting experience. She certainly looks the part, however — she has the steady gaze down, which is essential since Foxface never speaks in the books.

The other three additions to the cast are unknowns, and would seem to play essentially extras: None of their characters are referred to by name. The District 4 tributes are Ethan Jamieson and Tara Macken; and Chris Mark rounds out District 5.

Even if they don’t get a lot of exposure, it must be a lot of fun as a young actor to participate in the shooting of this film. And who knows — a particularly memorable two-minute cameo could lead to a pile of film offers down the road.
