"The Medium is the Message" Open Mic/Discussion Thread

Tonight is episode 4, “The Medium is the Message.” I’ll be doing an open mic tonight, so I hope all of you who are home and watching Medium will be able to join us! Fisher Stevens guest-stars as a physical therapy acquaintance of Allison’s, who, if I am guessing correctly, ends up helping her break a code that she keeps on seeing everywhere, so they can catch a serial killer.

Join us at 9 PM EST for the Open Mic, and if you can’t make it, feel free to use the comment section on this post as a discussion thread. See you at 9!

    REALLY GREAT episode!

I love the who-dun-it episodes, first I thought it was the writer of the book until I figured out it was Fisher Stevens.

Great to see Allison and Scanlon back in action to catch the Bad Guy.

    Good ending too!! : )))

Yeah, I had my money on the author of the book too. Wasn’t expecting it to be Neal. That ending was wicked too, the way Allison had to confront him and he arrogantly told her how and why he did it. But her reaction, the sadness and disgust, was brilliant! Such a shame that she can’t have any real friends, who aren’t killers or dying.

I loved the way Joe handled his new boss (what a jerk!), lol! Basically told him, “Somebody needs to call you on your crap, and I’m gonna do it.” GO, JOE!!! That should be interesting. Glad to see that Joe’s finally got a job and can get back to work and take care of his family.

It was great seeing Allison and Scanlon teaming up again. Love to see them working together and nailing the bad guys. (Hey, the bad guy got away last week, so they HAD to catch him this week.)

Fantastic episode, I loved it. It was my favorite of the season so far.

I suspected both the author and Neal from the beginning, when they said the killer switched hands I knew it was Neal.

I also liked seeing Allison and Scanlon teaming up again to nail the bad guy. Haven’t seen too much of that this season yet.

Liked the way Allison talked to Neal at the end about why he did it. Super ending.

I thought this was a GREAT episode. It kept me thinking and that is always good.

I’m glad Scanlon finally got some screen time this season, nice to see him and Allison working together again.

I am not a fan of Joes Job issues being involved in so many episodes but this one was pretty good with his slacker job and out there boss.

I really liked this episode and can’t wait for the next one. That looked even better from the promo.

At first I thought it might be the author. As a fellow left-hander, I noticed that straight away he was left-handed. I remember watching CSI Miami one time where they ruled out a left-handed killer on basis of the hand he wore his watch on. As soon as they said the killer had switched hands, I knew it was Allison’s acquaintance from therapy, it kept me intrigued to the ending though. There’s another one that they could revisit.

I was intrigued to know why he was called the Libra killer, did they explain? I mean I’ve read ‘Zodiac’ and seen the film. I presumed it was chosen because we’re in the midst of Libra right now but I would have loved a little more background.

What’s the law on cell phone usage and driving in Arizona? Obviously not against the law, right? I mean it’s against the law in the few European countries I’ve spent any time in to use a hand-held phone whilst driving. I mean it doesn’t stop everyone from blatantly flouting the law, but still I can’t believe Allison takes the risk, especially with the fact her hand isn’t quite back to full strength yet.

Glad Joe has a job again. I was sympathetic to Joe’s concern about his new position, however in today’s economy a lot of people are in jobs that aren’t ideal or ones they perhaps envisaged themselves in. You just have to find something else to intellectually stimulate you in the meantime. I mean he’s an inventor on the side but I presumed he was hesitant to use company time to develop ideas since the ideas would belong to the company, The novelty of being bored at work soon wears off though.

I did miss the Dubois daughters in this episode, I always do when they’re only in one scene, although I suppose I got the little glimpse of them when Joe was setting up his office. But I love Scanlon and Allison working together, I just love his expressions when Allison is trying to convince him Neal is the killer.

I went into recycling mode as soon as Allison emptied their trash. And Allison woke Joe up! I was wondering when that would happen again.

100th episode next week! :) I’m wondering if Maria’s real-life broken foot is something we’ll see added in upcoming episodes.

I really liked this episode. I also was suspicious of the author at first but I was intrigued by Neal too. First I thought he would help Allison to decipher the codes but I guess not.

I loved seeing Scanlon and Allison working together, they make a great team!

I also thought that Allison was on the cell phone too long in that scene she almost crashed. She should be more careful, being a mom she should be aware of the danger.

Hopefully now that Joe has a steady job he will stick with it and we wont have to deal with much more of that.

This was one of the best Mediums of the season so far. Next week and the Halloween episode look really great too.
