Odd Promotions: An Excerpt From ‘Naked Heat’, Written By Rick Castle from ‘Castle’

Yes that’s right: In preparation for the new season of Castle, ABC has released two crime novels, Heat Wave and Naked Heat, written by the protagonist of the show, Rick Castle (played by the extremely hunky Nathan Fillion.) That seems a little…excessive, don’t you think? Who wants to read a whole book written by an imaginary person? And we pity the poor ghostwriter whose job it was to make a shitty crime novel written by said imaginary person, just to have it distributed as swag to entertainment outlets.

Well, the least we could do was show you an excerpt:

Rook walked her backward toward her bed. When her calves met the edge of it, she let herself do a slow fall back, pulling him with her. As they both floated down, Heat pulled him closer and twisted, surprsing Rook by landing on top of him. He looked up at her from the mattress and said, “You’re good.”

“You have no idea,” she said.

Lock ‘em up chief, we’re sending them back to Yikers Island.
