Last night, the season finale of The Next Great American Band aired. It’s hard to beleive that the season is over already. It’s been a fun ride and I hope there’s a season 2.
The show began with my favorite of the top 12 bands, The Likes of You, performing When I Fall from Grace as they showed a montage of the eliminated bands. It was really good. I’m sorry that The Likes of You didn’t make it farther in the competition, but I’ll be watching for them anyway.
(the rest are after the jump)
Then an early eliminated group, Northmont performed along with the horn section of Denver & the rhythm section of Sixwire along with the slide guitar from the Clark Brothers. They sounded really great performing their rendition of Rob Thomas & Santana’s Smooth. I love Rob Thomas and no one can do this song better than him, but this was a very close second.

Next, The Clark Brothers performed a soft, emotional song called You Are Still the Same. They are truly a very talented trio.
Next we got a real treat as Sheila E performed The Glamorous Life. wow! She’s fantastic!!

The next group to perform was Sixwire. They did their own version of The Last Time. They sounded very polished and professional, as always.
Then, we saw judge John Rzeznik and his band The Goo Goo Dolls perform their song, Broadway. Fantastic!! I love the Goo Goo Dolls!

Denver & the Mile High Orchestra took the stage next and performed the song Vehicle. Then they found out that they were not voted the Next Great American Band. It’s no secret that I’m not a big fan of their style, so I wasn’t heartbroken. I know they have a huge following and I wish them the best, but wasn’t disappointed that they didn’t win.
The entire 12 top bands performed a medley of Christmas songs next and it was fun seeing them all on stage once again. They are all extremely talented and I know we haven’t heard the last of any of them.
Then, finally, The Clark Brothers were announced to be the winners and will be awarded the record deal and the title of the Next Great American Band.
This was one of the most season finale shows I’ve seen in a long time. (And I see a LOT of them!) It definitely wasn’t just an hour of filler with us waiting to see the results. It was a blast!
Congratulations to The Clark Brothers for winning the competition and to all the bands for winning America’s hearts!!

This could be the first time to be First. It was totally awesome to have this show. There are many brillant bands out there, that I may have never known about. Ah, The CLark Brothers drew me in on the 1st show. I was so thrilled that they won, and had a strong feeling that they would. They are truely gifted and have a special ora around them. I am looking forward to much more of them. Thank you for bring them into our living rooms.
The Clark Brothers are our National Treasure! I am so happy that they won!
How can we contact the Clark Brothers fan club? I have two small children, and want to know what their parents did to allow them to be the best they could be and still have such a strong sense of home and family. They are such an inspiration, I may just have to go religous now!!
