The OC is Cancelled!

THE SUN SETS ON “THE O.C.” WHEN THE SERIES FINALE AIRS THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22, ON FOX
The sun will set for the last time on THE O.C. when the series ends its four-season run Thursday, Feb. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The countdown has begun, with all-original episodes airing from Thursday, Jan. 4 through the last episode on Feb. 22.
THE O.C. stars Peter Gallagher (Sandy Cohen), Kelly Rowan (Kirsten Cohen), Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan Atwood), Adam Brody (Seth Cohen), Melinda Clarke (Julie Cooper), Rachel Bilson (Summer Roberts), Autumn Reeser (Taylor Townsend) and Willa Holland (Autumn Reeser).
Set in Orange County, California, THE O.C. premiered in August 2003. It follows a group of friends and families whose lives were changed by the arrival of an outsider – Ryan Atwood – to their ocean-side community of Newport Beach.
THE O.C. revived the teen drama genre while including humorous and heartfelt adult storylines. Shortly after its summer premiere, THE O.C. was a pop culture phenomenon – its actors are household names and its indie music (and subsequent six soundtracks) and hip California wardrobe are sought-after in stores. The show’s Newport Beach locale also has become a popular tourist attraction as fans visit the real locations featured in their favorite episodes.
"THE O.C. Season Four finale will also be the series finale. This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close,” said Josh Schwartz, creator and executive producer of THE O.C. “Thanks to the hard work of our cast, crew and writers, we have enjoyed our best season yet, and what better time to go out than creatively on top. It has been an amazing experience and a great run. For a certain audience, at a certain time, THE O.C. has meant something. For that we are grateful."

Oh my. I knew this was going to happen, but still… It was a shock. At least we know when the final show is going to air. After the last episode, all the characters can move on. The actors can now move on to different projects and become A-List celebs. Just like Mischa. So in a way. This is a good thing.
oh my god!!!! i was mad when marissa died but now i will die this show is my life i love it. I don’t want it to end i love the show and everyone in it. I hope to have a relationship with a guy just like seth and summer they are so cute.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO. i was fearing that this would happen. my life won’t be the same without this show. i’m sad now.
Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Whyyyyyyyy??????????? I am absolutely torn!!!!!!!!!! I can’t get by without by weekly dose of The OC.
I am so shocked that the O.C. is leaving the air! But noone wanted it to end up like 90210. Am I showing my age? I grew up in that era, glued to the television… That’s why I felt a kind of endearment to the O.C. It took me back to a greater time in my life. A time of care-free-ness(if that’s a word), and innocent love. Bravo for the O.C., it will be missed.
The OC was my life.
So now, i dont have a life.

it’s sad, cos the oc used to be a great show , esp season 1, and now the whole show jus got cancelled . but it really is what the producers (like josh) get for firing mischa, ever since then the whole show was going in another direction ):

OMG OMG OMG i knew this would happen after they killed marissa off all i can say is nice one josh you have really done it this time the oc went a bit downhill in seasons 2 and 3 but people still loved then he killed marissa and i dont know bout in the US but hardly anyone wants to watch it over here now. my fav season was the 1st it was most exciting well all i can say is i hope we see ben adam and rachel in lots of films and stuff (already know we will see a lot of mischa)

What’s wrong with you people? The O.C is my life? I am torn? It’s a show. You’re going to see these actors again. They’re not dead. Give me a break, you guys are acting as if you’ll die of loneliness now that The O.C has officially been cancelled. Life goes on. If your so desperate for your “weekly dose of The O.C” then buy the season DVDs. Gosh, you people are such drama queens.

Yeah it’s sad, but “all the good things comes to an end” Isn’t it.
everyone knew that it’ll soon happen..but now that is true, is so hard…OC is totally part of my life…this season was really great, but the finale of last season didn’t take just marissa away,took a lot of fans that didn’t believe in this serie without her….FOX is so cruel..and so is Josh…i hate when he says that the 4th season was the best..seems like it’s better just because marissa is gone..i’ll really hate if ryan and taylor end up together, she’s fun but i don’t like her taking marissa’s place in the show ..as the girlfriend..
ahhhhhrrrrggg…what am i supposed to do now without OC…

It’s not Josh’s fault. Fox cancelled The O.C so that a better show could replace it. Calm down.

i knew this was about to come no marrisa and now no ryan and team this sucks this was 1 of my favroutie show common guys i thought it would compelet atleast 11 sesons likes FRIENDS and BAYWATCH

When Mischa leaved the show. O.C going down, and hard. Marissa and Ryan were the best couple. And when Marissa died, theres no more O.C.

Oh. I understand. Well, Fox is replacing The O.C with what they call “a better and bigger show then ever before.” in the fall of 2007. So, you know, it’s not the end of the world.
AND for the LAST time Mischa WANTED to leave! It was her choice for goodness sake. They weren’t going to force her to stay. There was nothing left for her to do. Get your stories straight.

Yeah…anyways Mischa and Rachel all have projects in the works, plus Adam is doing a remake of 70’s movie “Revenge of the Nerds”. So this isn’t the last time your going to hear of The O.C gang.
man, that sucks. i’ll miss the oc. it’s not about how i won’t see the actors anymore (they will be in an array of movies), but i really enjoyed the concept of this show. the drama was, at times, escalated to its extremes, but the show was amazingggg anyway. i’m going to miss seth cohen. i guess ugly betty will be my new favorite show.
I cant believe the oc is cancelling. I know the oc was headin down this path. To be honest season 4 hasnt been that good with out marissa. The Oc died with Marissa!!!!!!!! I miss marissa, but when they killed her off Josh knew he had to pay consquences and im happy the oc is cancellin so Josh could see wat he did to his show. But on the other hand the oc is my life and without it i dont no what im gonna watch, think about or wait for those exciting thursday nights.

It doesn’t have to be over. The O.C. is too great a show to end like this. I really believe that with enough support they will make another season. Don’t let the sun set in the O.C.!

It´s so sad that the O.C is cancelled… But Im glad we got at least 4 seasons, that´s not bad! I live in Sweden, and season 4 starts tomorrow (wednesday) so I have all episodes left to see of the last season, and that´s comfort enough =)Of course I hope somewhere in me that all the protests are gonna bring back the show, but my senses tell me that it won´t. So I won´t build my hope up just to be disappointed! Well Im happy to have seen the best show ever made, and I will enjoy watching the seasons on dvd whenever I want to! In that way the show doesn´t die =)
I hope that Marrisa (Mischa) comes back for the series finale. If its the ending “they always wanted to do” then surely that would have had to include Marrisa? I think they will seriously dissapoint fans if they cant bring her back for at least the finale epiode..

it was soooooo long ago, but i rarely watch tv so i watched show online in a few past months and i knew that it has only 4 seasons, but it was one of the best shows ever and i am still sad cause of finishing watching. though, show was realy dieing in last season and it was not that show without mischa and i just cant believe that there are guys who like taylor cause she is so boring and damn and it was wound to see her replaceing marissa. however, there was stated trough all the show that marissa and ryan are better not to be together but after all troubles thay have been trough only i can see is that they are perfect for each other and even mischa didnt want to stay they could did like she is gone on the boat and almost whole 4 season goes without her and at the end ryan and she are wiser and older and they are sure they want to be together. maybe thats stupid “live happy ever after” thing, but for sure that could result people better handle the end and everithing stay in much nicer memory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
