Here it is. Disney has released the first photo of a new movie, which will be released in 2009, called "The Princess and the Frog". I mentioned awhile ago that Disney was going to introduce a new princess and that she would be African-American. It’s about time I say!

What’s the movie about?
The new film follows Princess Tiana, an African-American girl that lives in the beautiful French Quarter of 1920’s New Orleans. The story is one of enchantment and love in the bayou’s of Louisiana and the banks of the Mississippi, and includes the classic Disney theme of signing friendly animals and their friendships with the main characters.
I can’t wait to see it.
I didn’t know they had princesses in 1920s New Orleans. Setting a particular period for a Disney princess movie is a bit of a dangerous precedent, given that they almost have to exist in that imaginary time when royalty was basically a dime a dozen and didn’t seem to rule over any particular place. Also, there were mermaids.
I don’t personally think it’s a big deal what race the princess is, but I’m sure Disney will put their heart and soul into it, and it’ll be very enjoyable.
I think you should make the princess with lighter hair and light brown eyes!!! I like the skin color though!!! IT fits! I wish it wasn’t animated cause I want to be in it! MY name IS TIANA.. isn’t that nice?
