The Salahis Claim To Have Been Invited To The Party

They’ve finally done it: Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the famous party-crashing couple who were being filmed by Bravo on the same day as President Obama’s State Dinner for next year’s Real Housewives of Washington, D.C, have finally talked to the press, giving the Today Show an interview this morning. And, to add on a hilarious twist, they’re claiming that they were invited! Rather than admit that this was the most incredible thing that’s ever happened to the fame-hungry couple, Tareq calls it “the most devastating.”

MSNBC reports that the Salahis had a tie to Michele Jones, the special assistant to the Secretary of Defense, who e-mailed with them about the State Dinner, but she vehemently denies that she ever invited them or told them they could come. There’s also been a report that the Salahis were escorted out of an event held in September for the Black Congressional Caucus, which Bravo’s production company asked permission to film, but the Salahis deny that, too.

I just want to say that I should’ve been at the dinner, too. But my invite got lost in the mail, along with the Salahis’ invite.

NBC – owns Bravo – spin control.

Notice how the other Housewives in the Ho-Stable have said NOTHING about this? Because Bravo told them to keep their mouths shut.

At the very least it gives me great pleasure to know that Michaele and Tareq Salahi will be finding it very hard to board planes in the near future.

And I’m not buying it that Bravo didn’t know these two were con artists… they love these type of scumbags – go look at their other Housewives – liars, cheats, criminals and whatnot. Just a big happy family of dysfunction-function.

Well their comments aren’t hitting the national news and I don’t follow any of them so me bad….

I guess Bravo/NBC just can’t convince everyone to play with their spin…

Dr Lillian Glass gives a detailed review with her communication skills with the Today Show interview and the indications that both of them are deliberately lying.

Although I am not quick to jump on the wagon about this, Dr. Glass does feel there is evidence hat Michaela may be a sociopath. With all the huckster details posted about this couple on the other threads, I think this is probably true… Bravo better watch their backs, this woman would stop at nothing, and has stopped at nothing.

Here’s some interesting info on Tareq and his ownership of Oasis. It seems a realtor bought it back in 2007 and that Tareq is only an acting manager. It also sheds some light on the Salahi’s family feud.

Nevermind…it looks like Tareq Salahi is the owner after the realtor backed out. ;)

Another interesting blog post from someone that knows the Salahi’s and seems to have also been considered for the DC show. (Sorry if I’m over posting…but, these people have me so intrigued…sick, I know).

Simon, husband of Alex on RHONYC has been posting to his Facebook about this. Jil Zarin and Luann (the Countess) have also commented on their Twitter accounts.. all the others? I’m sure they don’t exactly follow current events if they don’t involve advancements in tanning.
