Tonight, they announced the first three contestants to make it to the Top 12 on the eighth season of American Idol. America voted and the following people made it:
Alexis Grace sang “Never Loved a Man” 
Michael Sarver sang “I Don’t Wanna Be” 
Danny Gokey sang “Hero” 
What do you think of the results? Are you surprised? Happy? Mad? I was so upset when I saw Michael Sarver and Anoop Desai standing there together. I wanted them both to make it.

I think the results were fine, except for Michael beating Anoop. That is a complete joke. His performance of the song he sang was atrocious both times. Anoop should get a wild card spot.
I kinda figured that Danny and Alexis would make it, just by going with what the judges said. I was really surprised that Michael made it, I thought for sure he didn’t have a chance compared to Anoop.
I was happy with the results, except I really liked Anoop. His performance on Tuesday was kind of weak so I was not really surprised. I was a little surprised that Michael made it. I thought Ricky Braddy was deserving of a spot. I agree that Anoop is a likely wildcard pick. And, yes, Clay Aiken made it into the top 12 via the wildcard. In that season only the top 2 from each group made it and he was 3rd to Ruben and Kimberley Locke before being brought back in the wildcard round.
So glad Tatiana is gone and I hope they don’t bring her back. Annoying beyond annoying.
I missed most of it last night, but I caught the end so I saw Danny. I was really happy he made it, he was my favorite out of that group. I don’t know if I’d consider him cocky, I think he’s just confident. A lot of people said David Cook was cocky too, but I thought the same about him, that he was just confident.
I liked both Alexis and Michael a lot but I was also really hoping for Anoop. I’m crossing my fingers for the wildcard. Didn’t Clay Aiken make it in that way as well? I can’t remember.
At least none of the others made it through. Tuesday night was so awful in general. :D
A’kyra – Anoop better get a wildcard spot. I was soooooooooooo upset. I cried because Michael made it and I cried because Anoop didn’t. Ugh.
Missmo – I hope he’s not cocky. Time will tell…
After last night, Danny is kind of losing points with me. The way the carried himself after Ryan said he made it. It was a bit cocky. That could be his downfall.
I saw the highlights and was very excited to see Tatiana gone. She is so dramatic and annoying. How come every time she spoke she flipped her hair?? The news made fun of her sobbing and not even clapping. SHe is a very sore loser and doesn’t deserve a wild card spot after her performance last night. I can see being upset and tearing up but she was obviously bitter and the old Tatiana came out – selfish and rude….bye bye Tat!
I too was shocked when I saw that Anoop and Mike the roughneck were put against eachother. I bet Anoop gets a wild card pick though.
