This morning, several photo agencies (including WENN, which is where we got this one from) are running what they claim is a photo of The Situation storming off the set of Jersey Shore and possibly quitting the show. This image on WENN ran with the caption “Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino got into a quarrel during filming of ‘Jersey Shore,’ ripped off his microphone, and stormed off the set. Seaside Heights, New Jersey.”
It’s possible that Sitch got mad about something, threw a tantrum, and then calmed down and went back to filming as usual, since he hasn’t been spotted anywhere else yet. It’s also possible that he saw how much attention Vinny Guadagnino got for quitting the show last week and decided to get a little free publicity for himself.
If Sitch really did leave for good, though? Put a fork in this show, because – like Sammi always says – it’s done. Two original cast members departing from the show within a week of each other does not bode well. (I’m not counting Angelina Pivarnick since she left so quickly into season 1 and isn’t a canon cast member so much as a gadfly.) I think that the timing of the fifth season has a lot to do with the reports of burnout we’re hearing – the cast came back from filming season four in Italy and went straight to Seaside Heights to start filming season 5 without a break. That schedule has to be exhausting, and add in jet lag, not getting to see their friends or family, Sammi and Ronnie’s inevitable bullshit, and you have a recipe for falling apart. I said a few months ago that season five was going to be the end of Jersey Shore as we know it, but I had no idea how right I might be.

Inevitably, there will be more than the usual amount of drinking and quite possibly a stripper. Your negative attitude to this can ruin the evening for him. He wants to make you happy – he has asked you to marry him! So, imposing unrealistic expectations or limitations, will mar what could just have been an evening of exuberance and letting off the steam of pre-wedding jitters. However, it is a good idea to spell out your limitations in terms of his behaviour (within reason).
