Have you noticed how All My Children has “ruined” the Zach Slater character? Zach has always been arrogant. He possesses the all mighty attitude. He’s still that way but it seems he’s reached a whole new level of arrogance and a higher level of his heroism tendencies. His belief in trying to save everyone no matter what always have major consequences on the people he supposedly loves and the other who were unlucky to be bystanders.
Donating a sperm to your sister-in-law without telling your wife is just BS. Then everything that has happened ever since. No matter how I don’t like Zach, the Zach I know would not even look at another woman, let alone kiss one, and let that woman who happens to be a lesbian come between him and Kendall. It is just so un-Zach-like. Know what I mean?
This brings me to Thorsten Kaye’s contract status. From last I heard the negotiations between Kaye and ABC is currently on a “stall” mode. While there is the pay cut situation looming around every daytime actors, I can’t help but nitpick Thorsten Kaye’s character. I just don’t recognize him anymore. Zach Slater has turned into a totally different person. The fact that he pretty much caused Reese’s going blind too is such a stretch now. And here I was thinking Zach being Bianca’s BabyDaddy and Zach shooting Josh for Kendall’s new heart were beyond the stretch of imagination, more dramatic things just keep happening.
He’s going to be fighting with Ryan Lavery, again. I mean who knows what would happen next. Thorsten Kaye’s contract expires next month. Maybe things are being settled as we speak or maybe not. We shall see. Pratt Jr is going to have to do a lot of character saving if Kaye decides to stay. The Zach I see now is not the Zach that Kendall fell in love with. People could argue that Zach is right on saying Kendall has changed too. Well, finding out your husband is the uncle of your niece and might possibly have the hots for his sister-in-law’s girlfriend would change you too, heh.

He should run for the hills—or at least across the studio. He can go back to OLTL. AMC has never used him to his fullest ability. They have written amazingly boring stories for him for over a year. He is such a good actor that, to me, that is just a waste. Let him go to OLTL which has become AMC’s best soap by far. No mobs, lots of drama–character based!! I’d love him to go home to Marty and Cole
Oh I miss Brooke.
Dawn, sorry it took me a while. I had to gather my thoughts :)
Thom, glad to be back. Even though I really didn’t leave but I know what you mean :)
Stephanie, I wished they did it to Brooke just so I could still see her instead of nothing at all, heh.
I’m surprised this hasn’t been happening to more beloved characters. Just so the shows can stay afloat nowadays.
Well Dexie you didn’t go to the blog-a-sphere in the sky. LOL Glad you are back. Yes they have certainly changed Zach for the worse…but they do that with almost all the characters always. AMC has always pissed me off doing that. Look at what they did to Krystal for example. It just boggles my mind.

wow Dexie you finally wrote what I’ve been thinking for months, I loved the Zach character but they are ruining him. I honestly think they need to get rid of Reese.
