Are you a night owl like me? If so, you probably have a hard time getting out of bed early in the morning. I know that I definitely struggle.
The Today show offered some tips for how you can become a morning person. Sound impossible? Watch the segment and judge for yourself:
Here are some of the tips:
- Make a to-do list the night before. Include all the things you need to have to start and make it through your day.
- Lay out your clothes and prepare your lunch the night before.
- Before going to bed, turn the TV off half an hour before going to sleep. Avoid alcohol/sodas and consider a hot bath or show.
- Have a specific bedtime.
- Have a small snack, like cheese, if you are hungry before bed.
- Invest in a noise-cancelling machine to get a more restful sleep.
- Find an alarm clock that makes it hard to hit the “snooze” button.
- Program your coffee machine the night before.
- Play some rousing music to get you going in the morning.

I also find it helps to leave your curtains or blinds open a little bit before you go to bed so that a little bit of light shines through in the morning. If you are waking up to a pitch black room, good luck getting up! That little bit of light lets your body know that the day is starting!
