Tom and Katie are Jimmy Choo’s Favorite Customers

90121L4

In a recent interview, shoe designer Jimmy Choo said that he was proud that the First Lady wore a pair of his shoes to the Presidential Inaugural Ball. The Malaysian-born luxury shoemaker does have some Hollywood favorites and they just so happen to be Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

"Katie and Tom are my favorite customers as they will take the trouble to drop me a thank you note after visiting me to order a pair of shoes," he said according to the Star.

"I really appreciate that as they are so rich and famous but yet remain humble and friendly."

I know that this story is from The Star and it’s not real reliable, but I can definitely see Tom and Katie doing something like this. They seem like the kind of couple who goes that extra mile to thank someone. I have always heard that they are very generous and make people feel appreciated for their work. Very cool story and oh how I love Jimmy Choo shoes! I don’t personally own a pair, but I have drooled over them before. ;-)

LOVE this designer….I was lucky enough to be given two pairs as gifts, one pair when I graduted with my Master’s degree and another when I got in to the PhD. program…..they are great shoes. I only wear them if the weather is perfect outside b/c I am so obsessed about staining them!

Not to worry Julie the article is not from Star magazine (the US tabloid)

The article is from Star Newspaper, the most widely read English language paper in Malaysia. The paper did an interview with Jimmy Choo.

I can believe this. Many people who know themm say this about them.

I believe this, but why? Unless, Choo personally went out of his way to design shoes for them. Choo is a widespread retailer so unless they receive preferential treatment :) , that would make no sense. I think we can safely assume they do receive preferential treatment, in which case a thank you note is absolutely appropriate.

I send thank you’s out for just about everything……. the thank you note is, in my opinion, a wonderful and often forgot gesture of kindness. E-mails don’t cut it. The simple act of a hand written and crafted note is always the better option!

Katie was raised by that SWEET mother, Kathy, of course she writes “notes”… for probably everything…..
