Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are seen entering a party after the 66th Golden Globes. Katie finished her last performance in the Broadway play “All My Sons” and then jetted over to California to be with Tom.
Tom was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Tropic Thunder”, but did not come away with a Golden Globe. Heath Ledger won the award for his role as The Joker in “The Dark Knight”. You can see Tom giving Heath a standing ovation in this video clip.
Katie wore a shimmery gold dress and she is grinning from ear to ear in the picture above. She is just glowing! What a day for Katie Holmes. I imagine she’ll remember this day for the rest of her life.
For the first time in weeks, Katie doesn’t have to get up and head to the theater for a performance. I hope she has a nice relaxing day with her family.

Why is they people make fun of the stars I mean come on it’s stupid. It’s there lifes not ours so stop being so jealous of them.
I am not sure why her body is the porportion that it is. How can it be that her arms are so very thin and bony while her legs and ankles resemble tree trunks? Thats probably why she is drinking diet drinks but it seems as if she is losing weight only from her torso up. Very odd body shape. Perhaps a personal trainer could help her tone her legs only because thats where her weight seems to settle. Her dress looks great as do her shoes. She made a good choice here. I do, however, wish she could have partied in NY with her cast as I know they had a great closing night party. I have a tip on what what the cast did for their “cast party” and I just wish she could have stayed for her. It appears as if TC comes first yet again. I know the Globes are a huge event but last night was also Katie’s special night and not just TC’s big night. Talk about a schedule conflict!

She doesn’t look bad to me, but definitely not what Tom was used to with Nicole or Penny. Gold is not a good color for her dark skin tone. I didn’t like how the color looked on Jennifer Lopez either. And, she looks awkward with the 5-inch heels. I think if she had worn lower heels and some highlighter on her face, she would have pulled off the look.
I think she looks pretty good for the hectic day she had….

Katies legs look different depending on the angles that the pics are taken but since we are going to compare, lets P CRUZ, in her movies they concentrate on the top half of her body, because when you see her walking from behind ,her legs are like tooth picks and bandy, but Katie is so exposed and wears everything , so she is judged more.
Kathy loooks absolutely fabulous. She is glowing and the golden dress enhances her.
And WHY do celebrities have to be perfect. Some of the “critics” here expect every body part to be perfect. I guess they must be truly spectacular to look at so if they print their names, we can look out for them in the International press.

I know this is not a forum for this but I have to say it.. That angie and brad, they are just dreadful. And since I dont post on any other site, just had to share….

Who said Katie has to be perfect? So what her legs are not sticks and her body shape is not that of Cleopatra, she is Katie Holmes and has never claimed to be Miss Perfect. Give her a break. You can criticise her fashion sense, but her body shape she can’t change. Give the girl a break. I am sure you too are not perfect.
I love her dress, her shoes and her make up. She looks simply gorgeous. She must have been celebrating the end of her play too. And she should celebrate.

Second, who knows what she did with the cast? Who is anyone to question what she did, where she did it, and what she “should” have done. Or, if she is only doing what Tom wants her to do. Are you for real? You have no idea, we have no idea….leave it at that.
Wow, she looks brilliant!! I love everything about this outfit, the colour, the style, those shoes, and you wouldn’t have guessed the day she’s had. She must be exhausted!
I agree with you Lauren, why must she be perfect, none of us are. Comments like those on here just breed insecurity, paranoia and self loathing.
I personally dont care what she does, as long as she makes tom happy… ha ha
but this is an opinion forum, I think we are all entitled to express our opinions good bad or otherwise.

Katie is considered a “star” now and therefore open to viewership criticism. I will continue to critique her choice of clothing, her body, and her acting abilities whenever I see fit.
The fact is that Katie is one of those girls who has a larger lower body than upper body. The only problem with that is when you attempt to diet down so that the larger part of your body meets your expectations, which is what I think has happened with Katie. She may be trying to slim down her legs, and in the process her upper body looks way too thin.
I would have liked to see Katie stay in NY for the All My Son’s cast party as well. She just finished a huge undertaking with a group of people she was with day in and day out for months at a time. I think it would have been a nice way to say goodbye. My personal opinion is that Tom could have gone it alone for the evening. I always get the feeling that Tom’s wants and needs come first. That’s just my opinion. Katie strikes me as the kind of person that would put him first, rather than herself. He, on the other hand, strikes me as the type that would put HIS needs ahead of hers.
Her smile is the best thing about her in the pics, she is just glowing! From the angle of the pics, the dress doesn’t do her justice and her hair is just not happening, but perhaps there are some better shots of her around. I think her legs are toned, but she just has chunky legs that’s all. Nice to see her gorgeous natural smile though!
Tom Cruise turns to Brazil in the days of my birthday that this is a very nice surprise this one …… I love to always remember this day. I hope that the whole family comes mainly from the baby Suri

Ahh Julie you are too funny! Thats ok…..it’s not a big deal, but thanks for caring! Yes, I do remember what I wrote and basically I was just commenting that Katie did look great considering she was up early, performed, had tons of stage make-up on then had to wash it off, hop a jet to LA , reapply more makeup and then socialize until the wee hours of the morn. I wrote that I do give her props for looking as good and as alert and focused as she did at the after parties considering the very stressful day she had. I think that particular day was off the charts BUSY!!! Oh, and thanks for addressing some of the negative comments that were made to certain posters on this thead! Have a good one!
I think the dress is so pretty, very youthful, and the color is so appropriate for the Golden Globes. I also think that Katie’s hair is pretty. (Though I’m continually saying how I enjoy her long hair, at least this version of her short hair is pretty). She looks quite happy, not “fake happy” but actually happy which is the best thing to see.
I know I mentioned this on another thread, but there weren’t any responses & I was quite curious to hear what everyone thought –
Do you think Suri will be a “Miss Golden Globes” in the future? (approx 12-15 yrs). This year “Miss” was Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce & Demi, who looked so pretty in her purple dress.
Does anyone know the rules for being a “Miss”? The only one I know is that you have to be a celebrity’s daughter. (But does that celeb have to be a GG winner?)
First of all, i don’t think these are good pics paticularly the 1st one , i bet if Katie struck a pose, she would have looked spectacular, and the whole outfit would have looked great, instead you have pics taken from below, and she’s up high, come on guys be fair, and if you enlarge that pic where her hair is falling in her face, her face looks gorgeous, and actually its the only time I really liked her hair shorter , fingers crossed maybe she’s growing it , again its the hair thing, no matter what outfit she wears its never going to look right, until the hair is longer once again, if Katie had her long hair or even shoulder length, or the longer version of the bob that she had ,she would have looked a million dollars, but with shorter hair , its never going to work for her, its always going to look wrong, I liked , the dress, and the shoes, perhaps she could wear a bit of a lower heel too, maybe 3inch, saying all that she looked so happy, and excited , to be with Tom and probably that she ’s home, you kind of got the impression she had enough, she was glowing , that was lovely to see.
I taped the show , have not watched it yet, I have no idea *Katie,* what creds you need to become a MISS GG, but I think that Rumer is somewhat unusual looking though ,you’re right maybe Suri will become one some day, there is something about little Suri Cruise, thats for sure.

Bella could technically be miss GG, and I bet she wouldnt have a thing to do with it…she seems very uninterested in that aspect of the business.
Katie attending the after-parties fresh from her Broadway closing was probably a great career move. She could re-connect with directors and producers, who want to talk to her about her play/run in a high profile situation, looking great, and feeling excited about her experiences.

I wondered about Bella doing Miss GG, but I think 2 things – 1. she doesnt show much interest in the business (I think past Miss GG’s have all been starlets, could be wrong) and 2 (just being blunt here, no offense meant, please no flaming) since I dont know the rules, I dont know if being adopted matters. Have any past miss gg’s been adopted?
Rumer does look different most of the time (a female version of Bruce Willis if you will), but i thought she was quite pretty in her GG dress. I’m glad that she was able to fulfill her duties this year. (She was named miss gg last year, but due to the writers strike, no ceremony was held, ergo no miss gg needed).
I really am interested in the rules though – do you have any insights Jenna?
