On Tuesday, January 20th, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes walked the red carpet together at the Berlin “Valkyrie” premiere.
Katie wore an Escada floor length gown, wore her hair curly and had some dramatic eye makeup going on. She looks beautiful!
As reported yesterday, Katie is set to star in “The Extra Man”, alongside Kevin Kline, Paul Dano and John C. Reilly. The movie will begin filming in New York, sometime in February.

Looking anorexic here. Makeup looks stunning as does the pin curled hairstyle with that gown. She looks exotic and I like this look however a tad too thin…..would look better with approx. 10 more lbs. on her.

I’ts one of these looks that I like and don’t like, if you know what I mean, but yes, definetly needs weight, much too thin, 10lbs sounds good.
Then, people say her hips and legs are too big. Even in the London pics her legs are pretty sizable compared to the top. She can’t win.
She has a runner’s body…..thin on top, muscular strong legs. She’s gorgeous…..all of would do anything to look like THAT for one evening! Go Katie!
There are some really nice pics of Katie , where she’s wearing a white jacket on top of her long black dress in Berlin, she and Tom are posing for some fans , they are lovely pics.
I think she looks great! It is not like you can see every bone in her chest-like we have all seen on other actresses. In other photos you can see how strong and fit she is in her legs and arms. She is just a very tall and lean person. I am sure she works hard at it, but I think she looks great now and would still look great if she gained 10 lbs.

Other than the pumps sticking out from the bottom of her dress, I like the look. I think she looks great.

She looks great, people like Jenna are the reason why young girls are doing all these crazy things to look perfect. Who said Katie has to be perfect? She looks gorgeous, I have seen thinner celebrities.

Yes, I have said in the past many times that her lower half is too heavy for her upper half. Certain people cannot lose weight in certain areas, and she obviously loses weight everywhere but in her legs. That being written, when she keeps dieting her upper half looks so bony while her legs remain chunkier. Maybe she has worked with a personal trainer who might be able to correct this challenge she has, but maybe she hasn’t. I do not know. All I do know is that I see a woman who looks beautiful in these pics, better than she has during her entire year in NYC and I am so thrilled to see her looking like what an A listers wife should look like. Finally she looks stunning again. However, she does look too skinny in these photos, but that is my opinion. I feel she was the ideal weight when she just started dating Cruise and they were shown together in Rome and France. Back then she looked fantastic, weight, hair, skin, face, the whole package was ideal. Now, her upper body is just too thin.
What are you taking about Jenna? Her upper body was very thin when she just came out with Tom in Rome. The girl has hips which is an asset. Most men don’t like bony sitck figure girls. MOST, guys like hips/thighs. No one is perfect. However, I would love to look like Katie and I can’t see any reason to bash her in her appearance. She is just older now and is a mom she doesn’t need to look like she stepped off the lot of Dawson’s Creek forever. Let’s give this woman a break and stop being so judgemental. She is gorgeous! Maybe you need glasses.

I find it amazing , how her looks change from day to day, at the Berlin premier, her face was gaunt and drawn, the next night at the London premier she looked so healthy and gorgeous, I don’t know what to make of it anymore, well I’m sure I’ve driven you all crazy with my theories and speculations, maybe Katie is a touch aneamic.
Annie, she’ll never have the body she had before having a child. Just doesn’t work that way. I suspect that she spends a lot of time looking thru fashion magazines that are full of 14-15 year-old girls and wants to look like that. That’s the impression she gives anyway.
Leah: I NEVER said she should resemble the girl coming off the Dawson’s Creek lot, but it is not unreasonable to resemble the woman she was a mere 3.5 years ago in Rome. Yes, she was thin back then but looked healthier b/c I speculate she was not yo-yo dieting then. Her legs and arms looked so much more in porportion in 2005-2006 than they do now. Its the issue of porportion.
OK. Well, honestly I don’t see anything different with her body type here than I did when she was in Rome. I happen to be a dietitian by profession…I think she is beautiful and has an awesome figure that most woman would love to call their own.
I do see the pressure Katie feels because Hollywood seems like an unforgiving place. It seems like most of the young starlets are cookie cutter people. They all look, dress and act the same. Almost as if there’s one and only one standard that they all have to aspire to. Can’t be easy.
I thought Kate Winslet looked so much better before she lost weight. In fact, I thought she was the most beautiful actress in Hollywood. Now, not so much. On the other hand, Kate Hudson was one of the cookie cutter types before, but has put on some weight lately and looks fantastic.
I suspect Katie is desperate for roles, but may also be emulating Nicole. Who knows.
What I like about Katie is ,she does experiment, she didn’t used to before Tom, she was just like everyone else in Hollywood, but that look is a nice look on her, and so is the London premier look, the hair and the dress style, but she still has a different look to most actresses in Hollywood , there is something about her, Istill reckon that her best was just before her wedding, paticularly when she went to Paris, after that she just went thinner and thinner, I have always thought Katie has it in her to be quite spectacular, but she misses the all important confidence or a new stylist, maybe one who isn’t her friend, but she needs a few kilos on her definetly, I think she would look so much healthier and probably nicer, Katie probably would put it back from the same place she lost it from, the upper part of her body, why on earth would she want to emulate Nicole ,although apparently Nicoles stylist is one of the best in the business.
What sets her apart from her contemporaries is that she married into a ton of money. Funny how people associate loaded with special. LOL.
I don’t get what what you’re trying to say Tyler, being loaded doesn’t make you special at all, I imagine sometimes it can get confusing to have so many choices put in front of you, knowing you can have the lot. I’m sure people make wiser decisions when they have only a few things to choose from as opposesed to the sky’s the limit. I always thought there was something different about Katie, long before Tom. I always felt she never made the most of herself then and I still feel that way now, most actresses love themselves to death, I believe Katie doesn’t love herself enough, as James dan der Beek once said of her, ‘’she never realised how beautiful she is, ” that was the impression he always got of her , having worked with her for 5yrs.
See, now I think Kate Hudson is far more beautiful and better built than Katie is. Years ago I felt Katie was built well but now, she looks haggard to me. Kate is a mom as well and still dresses so cute and has a rocking shape. Her hair and face are just so perfect looking to me. Katie looks so drained and washed out to me ….almost like she is anemic or something. She finally looks good in these more recent pics but jeesh in NYC I thought she was dressing as if she suffered from a mental illness.
One can rarely fault Kate Hudson for her red carpet looks.
Away from the red carpet however the fashion experts have been highly critical.
One should not feel pressured to carry a red carpet look into the everyday. I admire those that don’t feel the pressure.
Wow Jenna. What a terrible thing to say about Katie and quite frankly people who have a mental illness. I can’t believe you said that!
Sorry Leah, did not mean to offend. What does come to mind is when Katie wore those cream fingerless elbow gloves with that ensemble she had decided to pair them with. Now, in my opinion, Kate Hudson would have looked adorable in those gloves and would have worn them teh way they are to be worn….that particular type of glove is a hippy, edgier type of glove suitable for Kate Hudson’s wavy long relaxed hairstyle and her SoHo hippier “look”. I feel that Kate would have worn those gloves with an outfit that made sense. Katie on the other hand wore them with an entirely wrong ensemble an dher short cropped hair did not go with those gloves. Just my thoughts but she could not pull that type of glove look off. Hudson could. I just think Katie is not a natual when it comes to creating “looks”. At red carpet events I will write taht she indeed looks stunning…hair, makeup, shoes all look perfect but it seems that this is b/c she has a stylist advising her. I do not believe she has an inate ability to design or create a good looking style for day to day wear.
Thanks Jenna I appreciate the apology.that. We do all have a right to our opinion. Clearly you have yours and I have mine. I actually loved those gloves on Katie paired with the hat and the sweater. I think she looked adorable. I actually wanted to rush out and buy some of those darn gloves! Kate Hudson, Yeck, I do not understand what you see in her. I loved her mom long ago in film. That rocker x-husband of hers; some taste in men…And don’t get me started on her little boy with the long hair. Katie has way more class.
Oh another thing that comes to mind. Obviously Katie has a stylist, someone that delivers boxes and boxes of the latest high end fashions to her on a weekly basis. She obviously hardly wears the same thing twice and who would have time to do that much shopping on there own time? It takes me forever to pick out a pair of jeans and have them tailored! I imagine the truck loads of clothes that come to her where ever she is staying and someone works for her full time just to make sure she has everything fashion forward and then tailored to fit. Yes, a stylist. She may chose what she wears but it’s probably send that back and I’ll keep all this. What is your take?
Jenna, Katies hair let her down badly in NY, not the clothes, hair plays an important part on Katie I have always said that, and after the London premier, I’m more convinced than ever, I hav’nt seen her face so pretty in a very long time, its the same face , just a different hairstyle, and it made such a huge difference, truly , for some reason I don’t think Katie is as confident in herself as other actresses are, and we’ll take Kate Hudson for example, I have never seen a more flat chested actress in my life like her, and she is not thin to have so very very little, but she does’nt give a hoot, and is constantly photographed in a bikini, yet if you saw First Daughter, Katie was in this cute 2 piece blue costume, there was not a bone in sight, and her legs looked pretty good to me. In the Gift she bared her boobs, they were a very nice set of boobs, sorry guys for bringing this topic up, but from one woman to another its ok to get a bit personal isn’t it, yet considering her attributes she was quite conservative and still is to a certain extent, now the only thing is she is so painfully thin , which is so sad, I think. Look at VB, she’s not naturally good looking like Katie is, and yet in everything she wears , every pose she strikes, every photo shoot, she goes for it , even if she says she is a very shy person, ha ha, Katie doesn’t have that all important confidence factor and when she does get some, its like she does’nt take it all the way.
Leah: Good point you bring up here. You write that it takes you forever to get jeans tailored, yet you DO tailor them even though you do not have the added advantage of an “in-home” seamstress or a driver that could run them over to the tailors for you, yet you still manage to get them hemmed so as to look “good”. I have written for months and months now regarding the fact that Katie has NO excuses for leaving her home with long jean bottoms dragging under her heels and getting dirty when she has the added advantage of calling a seamstress to her home at an hour of her convenience. I say no excuse b/c she claims she is budding fashion designer who loves clothing and styles but nothing says gross and ill-fitting more than long jean bottoms. How foul! I see phlegm, tobacco spit, dog poo all over the city streets and often wonder why a woman of her stature would allow her 300.00 jeans to drag and get so dirty, polluted with bacteria from Lord knows how many different types of filth on the street. Dragging jeans is what pre-teens and teens wear, not what an A-Listers 30 year old wife should wear. Does she then get home, cuddle up on her expensive couch with Suri in those dirty jeans? I write ughh….how gross. Katie should know better.
