Tabloid rumors are circling around again that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are on the hunt for a movie to star in together. I have heard this rumor before, but never found out if it was true or not.
A studio executive at Now magazine said, “They’re looking at remaking Last Tango In Paris, but anything sexy with a good story appeals. Tom’s looking for something that’s cutting edge and sexy, but also accessible.”
He goes on to say, “He’s thinking along the lines of Basic Instinct – a movie that has a mainstream plot, but also some intense sex stuff. He hasn’t found the script yet, but both he and Katie are reading a few that could fit the bill.”
Hmmm…I am really not sure about seeing them in a movie together. It didn’t work out for him and Nicole Kidman. The movie did awful and was awful. Would Tom really want to do that again and take the risk? Who knows. If they do indeed film a movie together, you can bet I will go see it though!

Can I see them doing a movie together? No. Do I think they would be good in a movie together? Probably not. However, I did want to comment on to comment on his & Nicole’s past movies. The first movie they did together, Far & Away was a good movie and I think did fairly well at the box office; same for Days of Thunder. The movie for which Julie is referring to, I believe, is Eyes Wide Shut. Now I’m not the type of girl to defend tom Cruise, but let’s face it – “Eyes” is a creation from the mind of Stanley Kubrick. Some call him mad, some call him a genius, the box office didnt like him. I’ve seen another of his films, and have to say that it wasn’t necessarily Nicole or Tom’s fault for the failure of “Eyes”. Kubrick just makes odd film that are not for the masses…
That being said, I think Katie has blossomed so much being in NY and on her own that I fear she might revert to being a shrinking violet if in a movie with Tom, just for the sole fact that I don’t see him letting her shine like we know she can.

I agree *Katie*, I did not like eyes wide shut. I am not a huge fan of Nicole Kidman movies on the whole. I like Tom and Katie in movies but together, I am not sure. Maybe they should have a movie where they are not love interests.
Something about this story does not ring true. Makes it seem like Tom wants to do another ‘eyes’ but with Katie. I doubt he would be that narrow minded.
Ithink this is just something somebody made up, just like a pile of other things.

well, i think Eyes wide shut is a very good film, probably one of the best for Tom (not for Nicol) Them together in a film = perfect. I am afraid that will not happen with Katie and Tom together, they are both too nice persons, in a love story K needs someone less nice and cute, some bad guy, for example James McAvoy or Sean Penn or…
I don’t think, they should do a movie together. why because kat can’t act for one, and tom it would only put him down, so why would you do that? don’t do a movie with her, you’ll be sorry if you do. tom you are a great actor, don’t do that kat just would be in the way. susan kuby stassi,
Far and Away is one of my favorite Tom Cruise movies…Tom is very good looking in that movie. Day’s of Thunder is ok and Eyes Wide Shut was one I didn’t really care for. I think Tom and Katie could possible make a good movie togther if they find the right script.

I think Katie and Tom in a movie together is a great idea- especially an intense, sexy drama…
have any of you seen Vanilla Sky? I would love to see them do a movie like that.
Oh No! I think it would be an awful idea for Tom and Katie to work together right now. Imagine the negative press and nonsense about whether or not he got her the job?!?!?! The negativity would absolutely kill the film IMHO. I would prefer Katie work on her own and further establish herself.
However, I have a feeling this entire story is nothing more than gossip by a creative writer. I usually hear about projects way before the general public and I haven’t heard a word about a remake of Last Tango or something Tom and Katie are planning on doing together.
