It’s splashed on the cover of Ok! Magazine: “Tom & Katie Baby News! Katie puts her career on hold to give Suri another sister”. Everyone is reporting that because of the picture above and what a few “sources” from inside the Ivy said, that Tom and Katie are indeed expecting.
"It was identical to how Tom used to stand with Katie when she was pregnant with Suri," an eyewitness tells OK!. "And the way they looked at each other! You could see the love in their eyes and there was a feeling that they were sharing something very special at that moment."
What do I think? I have NO clue! I am just waiting to hear from a rep who confirms it. What I do know is that this is a pose Tom has done before. You know, the whole putting-his-hand-on-her-belly pose.

This is a picture of Tom and Penelope Cruz in 2004 when they were dating. It’s from the London premiere of “The Last Samurai”. I searched and searched and searched for a photo of Tom and Nicole posing this way, but came up empty handed.
I just thought I would show you at least one picture of Tom doing this pose. I have seen him stand this way numerous times with Katie. My point? It doesn’t necessarily mean she is pregnant.! It means, well, that Tom likes touching the bellies of his women. Yeah, I know, that sounded weird.

I’m intrigued by body language. Holding of the belly can be a defensive move, like he’s signaling to them that he’s their protector.
Julie: I do not appreciate having my every word censored. The difference with my posts are that I balance them with both positive and negative opinions, simply b/c it is unrealistic to only remark in a positive manner 100% of the time. No one is perfect, let alone Katie Holmes. I have never wrote abusive material labeling her as a “loser”, etc. Never have I verbally abused her or her lifestyle. I have, however, peppered my threads by writing that she is an average actress and an average looking woman but that with makeup she looks stunning. What is wrong with that? My comments are balanced. Just because I do not go ga-ga over her every move is not an indication that I am being abusive or disrepectful. Clearly, you define disrespectful radically different than I. Clearly, I am to only write mindless chatter about how perfect she is, how tremendous her acting is etc. etc. Where’s the balance? You need to be more clear how you define disrespect and show me an example of where in my threads I was disrecptful.

I am going to address this issue once more and then we need to get back on topic of the post. I feel that the comment policy that I have in place is very clear about what is allowed and what isn’t. It is possible that we define being disrespectful in different ways. I am not sure what we can do about that, but I have guidelines that I follow and if I feel a comment is out of line then it’s not allowed.
I do not expect everything on here to be praising this couple and writing “mindless chatter”. I have never said that’s what I expect.
I have guidelines for everyone to follow and yes, we will have varying opinions about what is allowed. There is no way around that.
I said in another thread that if you do not like this couple, this probably isn’t the best community for you to be a part of. This is, after all, a fan site.
Comments will continue to be watched and edited for anything I feel is out of line. I do not have a specific example to give you from one of your comments, but I gave an example in another thread of the difference between stating your opinion and being disrespectful.
I am not sure how else I can explain the comment policy.
julie; your response is fine to jenna. you are right, it is a fan site. If you aren’t a fan, why bother?
Liz, generally speaking, they are considered a controversial couple. I don’t think anyone here can deny that. Controversy attracts attention. Always has, always will.
I think their coupling, baby and marriage has made people more curious about them and their life.
I do think that curiosity is less than it was seeing they’re approaching four years together this April.
Controversial because they showed a lot of affection in the beginning? That was almost four years ago. What’s so controversial about them as a couple now?
I’d sure hate to continue to be judged on my past for years and years, especially when I did nothing wrong to begin with.
I saw a picture where they were looking at each other and katie was smiling, and I really thought the rumors were true, but now I’m not so sure. I’m 50-50.
I hope she’s not preggers.. I like seeing her do work that is expanding her career. She’s still young enough to put off babies for a while.
I missed the thread in which you addressed an example stating ones opinion and being disrespectful. There are too many threads that it is quite possible that I overlooked where you claim to have given an explanation. There are many times that I do not read every thread.
Ari – I am the same way, 50-50. Some days I think she is and then I’ll see another picture and think she’s not.
Ny’er – I am still waiting to see if there is confirmation about her starring in The Extra Man. I think if we get that from her rep, then that’ll put down the baby rumors. I would love to see Katie in another movie!

OK mag came out today, and there is a pic of Tom and Katie very similar to the above,but her hand is on his while he’s patting her tummy, and looking at each other, I’ve seen hundreds of pics of Tom and Katie, kissing , all over each other or whatever, but as mushy as it sounds, there was an incredible sweetness in this pic there really was, has anyone else seen it, for me , its one of the nicest pics I have seen of them together.
I think the entire pregnancy rumor is nonsense. Remember, it’s from a British tabloid! I sincerely doubt Katie is pregnant and frankly, I hope she isn’t. In recent pictures, she’s thinner than ever! So thin it concerned me! I would rather see her gain a little weight!
Also, isn’t Katie supposed to start a film in NYC next month? And what about the other stage production she is involved with?
I just don’t buy it. I think Tom was just putting his hand in front of her and the British press created a story to go along with it.

Tia, I think the controversy was more about the speed in which things happened and the fact that Tom and Katie are two celebs you would have never thought of in the same sentence. The overwhelming show of affection didn’t help. It was curious.
Also, it hasn’t been “years and years”! They’ve only been together for less than 4 years and that’s not very long at all. Unfortunately, we are ALL judged by our past actions and less than 4 years is not enough time for that to change. If they stay together for several more years, I think you’ll see a shift in attitude where Tom and Katie are concerned, but it’s too soon right now.
I will still offer criticism when I feel it is appropriate. There is a difference between writing that Katie’s choice of clothing was “wrong” and writing that Katie is a loser etc. The first targets her behavior (eg. her clothing choice, and the latter targets her as a person; huge difference. One is a piece of constructive criticism based soley on my opinion, and the other is verbal abuse. Many times I have written that she looks stunning, electric etc. but as this is a forum for “star” watching I cannot always report that she looks stunning and electric because she quite honestly doesn’t.
I have noticed he does that.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for an update on the rules. This is a FAN site and thank goodness for that. I wasn’t coming on for a while because there were many posts that did a lot of “passive” bashing….go somewhere else. We don’t need negative energy here.
I’ve deleted a couple of comments that broke the comment policy. Also, please remember that I am not by my computer 24/7. There are going to be some comments that break the rules that slip through. It doesn’t mean I am letting someone get by with something or am playing favorites. Julie, thanks to you the “new style” site is so much better. I was one of those who absented myself for a while as I felt it was a fan site and yet, there were so obviously non-fans emailing in, with many hateful and critical comments.
it was not my idea of a fan site especially as I am aware that there are other sites where some awful sad people dominate.
So thank you again for getting back to base and making it a true fan site again!!!

I absolutley love Katie and Tom. More power to them to be able to have a great marriage with the pressure of selling a paper. If Katie is pregnant I wish her all the best. Tom and Katie make great parents. Suri is a lucky little girl.
i agree, this is a FAN site. i come here to get news and pics of celebrities that i’m a Fan of…ie. tom and katie. if i wanted to see bashing of tom and katie i would read a site that is geared towards that…I’m sure they are out there! i appreciate the moderation of julie because i don’t come here for negativity i come her to share in the pics, excitement, and news of someone i am interested in.
Good for you Julie. I admit I am rubbed the wrong way most of the time by Jenna’s comments. Sometimes she is so rude and dismissive which is uncalled for. It is a fan site so be it.
Re: touching her tummy, Tom did that even with Nicole. Of course he was always touching Katie’s tummy when they were expecting Suri but I think it is not a conscious gesture. I would love them to have more babies. Suri is just too cute. She is almost three. I think it is about time.
The biggest source of controversy is, of course, a topic we can’t touch on here, Tia. The fact that it’s banned here doesn’t make it go away though. It’s still very much at the heart of Tomkat.
