The New York Daily News caught up with Tom Cruise recently and asked him if he has ever considered going into politics.
"I’m an actor, not a politician,” Cruise told the News. "Acting is what I’m good at, what I’ve been trained to do. I’d never do politics."
Tom added that between politics and acting, he has the “better job”.
I could personally never see Tom getting into politics. What are your thoughts?

My real thoughts Julie:) There are no real differences between actors and politicians…they are both great at acting;)
yes…. I agree.TC would not be good at politics. For one, I do not mean to be rude but I am just being honest……he simply has no formal education after high school. I just do not feel, hate to write it, that is his smart enough. Not that you have to be brilliant, but he lacks any real understanding of economics etc. He is correct when he said he was trained to be an actor. He would be spinning his wheels if left to make serious decisions regarding a state or a country.
@Kelly – so very very true!
Some years ago we had a prime minister who never finished high school and I remember reading a biography of Aristotle Onasis, he had very limited education. I really believe these sought of people are driven to succeed by something deep inside and a big dose of good luck. If Arnold S can be in politics , so can TC.
i love actors who are not participating in political activities
I don’t think you have to have an extended education to be in politics but I think it could help. I think lots of different life experiences that help to make a person more open minded would help.
I agree with Kelly(but I wish it wasn’t that way)
I agree with Kate and Jenna. Most American politicians are either Attorneys (which would explain alot. LOL) or Economists. One needs a strong background in either history, law or finance to reach the upper levels of politics here in the states. Tom just doesn’t have the education for it. I also don’t think he would have the backing. His personal choices are a little different (to say the least) than the mainstream and I can’t imagine middle America reacting to them very well. It took until the 1960’s for us to get a non-Protestant President and we’ve never elected a non Christian since. The “red states” are not that progressive.
CRose: I totally agree.
