Apparently Tom Cruise was never officially attached to star in “The 28th Amendment” like we had all heard. One thing is official though, the Top Gun star will not be in the movie. He has bowed out and is still looking for his next movie project, according to EW.
Sources are saying that the two movies we can expect to see him in are most likely Matarese Circle with Denzel Washington and DreamWorks’ Motorcade. Cruise is also still rumored to be starring in Witchita with Cameron Diaz and Hardy Men, where Tom and good friend Ben Stiller would star side by side.
I would personally love to see him do all four of these movies and I am disappointed he is not doing The 28th Amendment. It sounded like a great film.

Julie, I am disappointed too. But the Genre of 28th amendment is so similar to Malterese Circle so I guess Tom had to chose. I think he went with one which has a sequel and deeper plot. Ludlum never gets it wrong. The Malterese series are superb.
If Tom chose not to do The 28th Ammendment, it must be because the script is not as good as it should be. Tom has an excellent track record at picking not only really good scripts, but really excellent directors as well.

you know when you want to pick a horse at a race but you don’t know much about it, so you go for a name that appeals, thats how I feel about the Matarese Circle, I find it a really appealing title. The actors are good too.
