Tom Felton picks his favorite Harry Potter director

Tom Felton promotes for his film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Japan

Tom Felton has picked who his favorite director is out of the four who have directed the Harry Potter films up to this point: David Yates. Here’s what he had to say:

“David Yates, who we’ve been working with for the last few years, he’s been by far my personal favorite,” Felton told MTV News. “I get on with him like a house on fire. I think he’s a genius at what he does…..Half-Blood Prince,’ I felt very … not lacking confidence, but I wasn’t sure before starting that I’d be up for the job,” he confessed. “And then I cemented a newfound confidence in filmmaking. And I’d like to take that on to future roles and other challenging projects.”

Of course, he’s not downing on any of the other directors! Here’s what he had to say about Chris Columbus, who directed the first two films:

“Chris Columbus was a fantastically fun guy to work with, especially with kids because we didn’t know what we were doing and he was a brilliant person to try to get us into it and for it to remain fun, which is essential,” Felton said.

And here’s what he had to say about Alfonso Cuarón, who directed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban:

“Alfonso obviously had a very artistic view of it and a lot of fun with him.”
