Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Tom’s daughter Isabella Cruise took a tour of the Seville, Spain cathedral on December 11th.
Tom has been in Seville shooting his upcoming movie “Knight & Day” with his former Vanilla Sky co-star Cameron Diaz. It’s going to be fun seeing these two on film together.
Speaking of movies, I was just reading an article over at Cinematical about about a movie project called The Thirteen Women of Jinling. Producer Zhang Weiping mentioned some of the A-list actors showing interest in the movie – which includes Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks.
Jinling is described as a Schindler’s List type of epic film by the producer. And at a cost of $100 million, the film’s budget is the biggest yet for Yimou, who has become mainland China’s most internationally famous director with arthouse dramas like Raise the Red Lantern and action spectacles like Hero. The reported price tag also puts Jingling above John Woo’s recent two-part epic Red Cliff as the most expensive Asian film yet.
I love all three of those actors, so any of them would be great in this movie for me personally.

I would love Tom cruise to have it too.If not Tom Hanks Can’t stand Brad Pitt, he is yuck. I haven’t watched a movie of his since Mr and Mrs Smith. And that movie was rubbish.

Jenna, it is a very good article, and definitely food for thought about using a small child for one’s own PR reasons.
I really wish these journalists would stop with the judgmental articles on the Cruise’s and their child based on nothing more than rumor, accusation and assumption.

It’s not rumor, accusation and assumption” when photographic evidence of Suri dressed much older than she should be appears in the news on a daily basis. It’s was longer playing dress up when it became what she is allowed to wear on a daily basis. I don’t care if those shoes are “ballroom dancing shoes”. I think that means they’re supposed to be used when dancing, not for daily wear!!
The Cruises are judged because they choose to allow a 3 year old to dress like a 40 year old tart. They’re the parents. They have the option. Its no surprise that Suri is interested in dress up, but this isn’t dress up. It’s her lifestyle at this point and it’s sad. She should be running and jumping and playing with other children her age and playing dress up when she’s at home. Not pracing around on a daily basis in high heels and now earrings, lipstick, a short dress and a gold handbag. As a parent of a girl who DID play dress up in the true sense, I’m horrified. And NO…I have never seen any of my daughters many friends dress like this when they were that age. Ever. I have never seen any small girl dressed like this in LA. It’s not “normal” and it is harmful.
I don’t believe for one moment that they are using Suri for PR, as a matter of fact it’s always been the British press that starts rumours and innuendo, most of the time, they don’t have a very good reputation.

It’s about time she started playing their game at least in public anyway. Put something warm on Suri when you go out, then she can take it off when she gets home , and she can run around as she pleases, let her dress up to a certain extent, again when she is out of the paps sight she can wear all the dangly earings ,dancing shoes , to her hearts content, why give them amunition to talk about your child.
Give light hearted interviews , like she used to , instead of being scared to open her mouth
dress up to the hilt…. the media is going to talk anyway , at least give it something positive to talk about.
Somebody said the other day that Tom is good at the media game…..well so is his ex wife, but Katie not so much, sorry its about time she started.

If TC wants the the role, I hope he gets it , I also like Tom Hanks, can’t stand Brad Pit , but he’s the flavour of the month it seems.

She is nice…but beyond that..It seems to me she didnt realize what she was taking on being married to Tom. I think it was a bit naive of her.
I think she would say in regard to the bad press, just an EX: ” Im not letting them dictate how I dress my child.”
……..But what she doesnt understand is that take away the edge and defense mechanisms, and honestly should Suri have a coat on? I personally could care less,seems this topic took on a life of its own however, if it is cold… then..ah…Yes any kid should! Certain things and times arent options…but I cant see Katie giving into every whim either…but you all would know better than I.

First of all Katie used to give cute interviews, I have even seen a video of her having a pedicure at some resort, and she was chatty , funny and honest. Maybe if they started asking her more intelligent questions in interviews she would answer more intelligently. Sometimes it comes across as a loyalty to Tom, like its something of me you and Suri against the world or the media. Since she has been with Tom, its like she supresses her natural self in interviews, and things. This is not against Tom ,I’m giving a time frame
Katie has given a lot of interviews, for her movies, at Sundance, talk shows , sung on talk shows , so its not that she is too shy, so what has happened. I think its not that she is not savvy, I think she is stubborn, she doesn’t want to compromise herself, I’ll do it my way, commendable yes, but are other actresses smarter, is it the wise solution to take, no I don’t think so, she just refuses to ‘GET IT’, not that she doesn’t .
They don’t use Suri for PR, they are just so in love and very proud of her, you can see it a mile away
Kit…I agree….. I do not think she is capable. PS On another note NINE is geting amazing press…and is up for a slew of golde globes…everyone knew this would be a huge success…..no wonder KH wanted on this gracy train….Rob Marshall NEVER cast her in it even though she had sought interest in it…a friend of mine is a AP in LA and he gave me some juicy gossip that the word out in the circuit was that Katie was not the right “fit” for this role… I KNEW IT!! I knew she was not sexy enough or talented enough…..what a shame b/c Bat Man made huge $$$$ and now Nine is up for globes with Kate Hudson and Cruz up for best supportings. Gossip is that Katie was devastated when she was “cut” and has been reduced to blander films like the romantics and only b/c Liv Tyler had to turn the role down. In my opinion, Katie is only where she is at b/c of who her hubby is. She is an ok actress in my opinion, but I do not believe she will ever be the STAR that she had hoped to be. Stinks too b/c she married her high school dream crush and the world still ridicules their marriage. I honestly do not know how she can take it.

and I completely agree they do not USE Suri…give me a break…that child is adorable, and YES exactly they are proud of her,any other comment is ridiculous.
I don’t believe they use her either, but they do constantly fawn over her, gauging her every move, and she knows it. It doesn’t take much for kids to catch on.
I agree that they don’t use Suri for PR. They don’t need to. They get plenty of attention for just being who they are and what they do. They don’t need to use their child for attention. I think they are just going about their lives doing things they like and we happen to see photographs of them doing it. I have seen too many shots of Suri hiding her face against her parents and covering her ears, and of Katie looking annoyed and angry for me to think they use that little girl.
I really, really, REALLY DO NOT WANT TO BELIEVE THEY USE SURI FOR PR. Believe me, I’ve been a Tom Cruise fan since Top Gun and a Katie fan since Pieces of April!! From the very bottom of my heart, I want to believe they do not use their baby for PR…..but sometimes it’s hard, especially in the past few months. Especially knowing what I hear about Tom and Katie from friends who work with them. Truth is, none of us know for sure what the situation is. Only Tom, Katie, their family and their staff really know the truth.
Please don’t say I’m influenced by the media. I’ve worked the industry for more years than I care to admit. I don’t read tabloids and mostly, I’m too informed to buy the nonsense publicists put out. I base my opinion and what I see with my own eyes and what I hear from people I trust. I LOVE Tom’s work and I enjoy Katie’s as well. I think her potential was limitless until not long ago….but I find myself feeling sad about The Cruise’s alot these days. Still love the work, but the personal life is a bit of an issue.

i don’t think they use Suri. i don\t really think katie cares. she must know what people say about they way she dresses suri and she still dresses her the way she likes. just my two cents
what? katie auditioned for NINE? for which role? i think she is really talented, people just love to hate her. katie is much better than kate hudson, fergie. but it woould have been kinda strange to have katie and nicole in the same movie. maybe that had something to do with her not being chosen??/
I have always thought that Katie should do more drama, they were the roles she excelled at, Pieces of April, Teaching Mrs Tingle, Abandon, she has a moody broody look to her, and when she had her long hair, I thought she was great. The love scenes she used to do were pretty tame but she looked very s..y (otherwise moderation), if you have seen Abandon, and TMT you will know what I’m saying, but comedy is not her style, I don’t think. Somehow I think the people who put characters together in a movie realise that Katie is very long hair , and thats why they put hair extensions on her, thats her best look, she looks so different , her whole outward look changes.
I think she is a talented actress, but hasn’t yet found the right script to really bring it out, and I wonder if the negative media talk all the time, maybe doesn’t help things either , but I believe she can turn that around a bit if she really wanted to. I realise she is in a situation that seems to snowball out of control sometimes where the media is concerned, but she can do it, if she put some thought into it and perhaps had someone a bit wiser to give her advice or at leasst someone who gave advive that she would listen to, because in all honesty they certainly don’t seem to have good pr people , thats for sure, then again maybe she wants to do things her way (which hasn’t looked like the right decision anyway).
Iknow I have said it a 100 times and I will always say it , she has to learn to play the celeb game , if they want to get out of this situation that keeps following them.
