So why is Suri dressed like Summer when T&K are in Fall clothes? Is that why they always carry around a blanket? They are a gorgeous family, glad that Katie is dressed nice for once. She had much better style years ago. I would also like to see Suri with a barette or a headband. Her pretty hair hides her pretty face!

I just looked at some of the tabloid coverage and it seems they are more concerned with what designer she is wearing instead of noting that she is merely underdressed on a cool, crisp Fall day. BTW...pink dress (according to tabloid...not just pink dress...a Juicy Couture)... what's the world coming to??? My son wears Baby Gap and cool designer shoes...but no one really cares. I do...but I don't need to label him even if he were a celeb baby:(

And the high heels. Well ok to play in but these look like actual shoes not play shoes and small feet should never be subjected to walking about in any heels. The first girl shoes I had with heels were my Easter shoes when I was about 12 I think. These little shoes also do not fit properly so she is slipping and sliding around in them..
(not sure which email I used-so tried both) I usually write from work lol

Personally, I think Katie would like to see little Suri dressed more 'kid' like. Thus in Australia during the time Tom wasn't around, we got to see Suri in leggings, jackets, etc and by the way actually playing with a couple of other kids. I loved the ones the other day of her at the track in pigtails. Boston surely has to be very chilly in mid-Oct..so why are those silly blankets back instead of Suri being in a jacket and socks and shoes??? And the dresses Suri has been wearing are strictly summer fare not at all Boston type clothing.
Since Tom looks at Suri like a little adult, I think she is allowed to call most of the shots in what she will wear, when she sleeps, etc. The fact is however, that all children need healthy boundaries. It is their own best interest to have limits set, bedtime, playtime, learning time of course no limit on cuddle time. Is this poor child even potty-trained at this point??
Katie and Suri seem to have grown quite close in the last 9 or 10 months and that was nice to see as I think they both needed the other more. It was also nice to see Katie's folks in town and Katie and her mom enjoying Suri together.

I was a big softie with my kids when they were little, when we went food shopping or any shopping they always came away with things , mainly little tonka cars to add to the 100 they already had, and many times I used bribery on them, They knew whenever we went out that they would get milkshakes, donuts, macas, icecreams , whatever took their fancy, that was ok with me. But honestly they never dressed themselves at the age of 2 and 3 and I never asked them, mainly because I always wanted them to look nice I guess, summer clothes were for summer , winter clothes for winter, and whatever the season clothes in between, so basically this Suri thing I don't understand it too well.
The park pics are a little confusing, because you see a set of pics from the same day with Suri Katie and grandma, out shopping, Suri is wearing a blue jacket, then there are pics of her playing hide and seek behind a tree in the park again with the jacket, then you have all those pics of her without the jacket, and they are the main pics that get shown everywhere, it seems she has her jacket on and off all day. Her attachment to her blanket is another thing, she must feel cold because the other day she was walking around her fathers set with the blanket around her, and I also wonder sometimes if her blanket is some sort of security for her when then the paps get to her sometimes, or when she's tired ,she wants it around her, because Suri certainly has a need for her blanket whatever the reason.
I will never forget the little video clip of Suri in the park in Berlin, she must have been about 16 months, even then she was running around with this big blanket, that was bigger than her, so she is very attached to it.
Also there are little kids that over heat , and apparently its not good for this to happen to them, and funnily enough it happens to a lot of kids born under the sign of Aries, like Suri (don't laugh its true).
However that little flimsy pink dress , was way too summery , paticularly when you look around at everyone else, there has to be some boundaries, as to what is acceptable for Suri to wear weather wise, she's only 3 1/2.

Oh, excuse me, after looking at the pictures again,I realize--well, that pink sweater is most not likely Tom Cruises that he's carrying LOL! Like many parents they are probably carrying that sweater and blanket and she wants them part of the time and not at other times. No harm done, children have preferences:)

(In response to weather appropriate attire for Suri).
I wonder then...why not carry a sweater or coat for the child? My daughter will refuse a coat on the way out the door, I put it in the car. Once we are at our destination, she wants to put it on. Children do not have time differential concepts at this age, they live in the moment. If they are warm at the moment they are presented with warmer clothes, it may not make sense to them. (So in that children at this age do not understand, I agree with). I think that is where the blanket comes into play for her, which may be seen as warmth and security. No judgement here, just observation, and sharing my own experience of a young child's perceptions of temperature. Carrying a coat along or talking up how pretty stockings are for a sweet little girl never does them any harm. I try to naturalize weather appropriate clothes, by focusing on how pretty they are, and how good the clothes will feel--works like a charm:)

Thanks for the info, kate, but I have to disagree. Of course children "learn through experience". Everyone does, but the issue is how much are you willing to allow them to experience before you put your foot down. Right now it's choosing not to wear a jacket, socks...etc. when it's obviously necessary....not a big deal. However, what happens when Suri becomes a teen? With that parenting method, where do you draw the line as to how much "experience" do you let the child have before it does become dangerous? Do you let a 15 year old drink herself sick with alcohol so she learn from "experience" how ill one can get from drinking? Obviously, that's a extreme example and I'm not saying it will happen with Suri, but do you see my point? Where do you draw the line and how can a child become used to listening to their parents (who are far more mature and already have experience), when they've never been taught to!! I'm just saying that there has to be a middle ground where you allow your child to experience certain things and make their own decisions and other times when it's necessary, as the adult and as the parent, to make safe decisions for them when they don't know any better. If you don't do that, you're going to have a complete loss of control when they're teenagers and we all probably know the dangerous decisions teens can and do make.

We're all looking looking at pictures and can't possibly know for certain what Tom and Katie's parenting style is, but IMHO, they need to exert a little control now or they're going to be really sorry later!! Again, just my opinion!!
