It’s another very slow news days for TomKat! Since there isn’t mush to talk about, I thought I would round-up the little bits of news that are out there, as well as highlight some of the comments you have all made.
Here we go!
- In the post “Who Do You Want to See in ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’?” several of you pointed out that it seems weird for Katie Holmes to play the daughter. You said she seems a little too old for that role and would seem better suited for the role of the girlfriend. I realized, that so far, it doesn’t say exactly what her role is, not even on IMDB. I’ll keep doing some digging and keep my eyes open for any developments on her role.
- Annie pointed out that Katie attended the “Model as Muse” event and that she wore one of her own designs. I had no idea she was there! You can see one picture of Katie here. Let me know what you think of the outfit.
- A few sites are saying that Tom and Katie really want twins. How the heck do they know?! Oh yeah, they spoke to the trusty “insider”, lol. Anyway, they are saying that Katie has been having fertility treatments to raise the possibility of twins. Check out the story here.
- Nicole Kidman, ex-wife of Tom Cruise, has sold her home in Australia for a discounted price. She reportedly lost about $4.5 million in the deal. Ouch!
- Last but not least, here is an incredibly boring video of Katie getting into a car after leaving a friends house in Redondo Beach, CA. It was so boring, it didn’t even deserve it’s own post.

That ridiculous nonsense about Tom and Katie undergoing fertility treatments is so silly that I can’t imagine it even deserved a mention here. First of all IVF (if you know anything about fertility treatments that’s what they’re talking about) is VERY DIFFICULT and not something ANYONE would do just because they want multiples. It would totally unethical for any medical professional to advise a healthy couple to put themselves thru what’s necessary to prepare for IVF, nor would any sane couple submit to that unless there was a real need for it. These tabloids are getting desperate.
I understand there’s very little news out there at the moment, but do we really need to put this kind of trash on a site that is supposed to be a tribute to Tom and Katie? IMHO. No. Just my opinion.
Loved the dress Katie wore to the Model as Muse thing. I would have liked it better without the jacket, but that’s just my personal taste. I think she was trying to be a little edgy by wearing the jacket and that’s just fine. It’s certainly alot better than that cream outfit she designed for the Correspondents dinner. Much more youthful and stylish in my opinion.
Oops….forgot to add. Why the Nicole Kidman news? She and Tom have been divorced for years and years!! Not sure why we should care that she sold her home. It doesn’t have anything to do with Tom or Katie.
I love Katie’s outfit!!! even more than the other one(correspondents dinner). She looks so young.
I loved the outfit also.
I don’t believe most of what I have read about any star until I see it or it comes out of their mouth .

Charlotte -I was hurting for news, badly, lol. Also, I forgot to mention (duh me) that the house was one she owned when she was married to Tom Cruise. They would stay there (from what I read) when they visited her home.

Charlotte – one more thing regarding your first comment. I get ragged on all the time (not by you
) because I don’t post the negative stories that I believe are pure rubbish. If TomKat fans are searching for news, they are going to come across the ridiculous stories like that. So, I feel like it’s important for fans to have a place to talk about the dumb stories and stand up for Tom and Katie. Does that make sense?
Usually, I won’t post them, but I may start doing it a little more in a round-up post. Stories like that don’t deserve their own separate post!
My only intention is to report what the tabloids are saying, but in a respectful way, which allows the fans to talk about the stories in a much safer place than on other blogs I know. There are some places that if you come to their defense, you get trampled on. No fun.
I saw a couple of pics of Katie on the same day the video was taken, the paps actually took pics of her in her friends, (I’m sure) it was inside the garage, those paps sometimes are pretty desperate .
I liked her outfit too, she should have worn that one to the dinner. You have no idea how much I want to see her hair looooooooooooonger, everything Katie wears will look different, wait and see.
There was an article on NKs house in the Sunday paper, apparently she wanted $20 million, its been up for sale for 1year, but our paper said she settled for $6mill less than the listing price.
Loved Katie’s outfit. Loved it even more because it was her own creation.
Much as I want a sibling for Suri, I am tired of all these fabricated stories. Katie has a new movie to shoot. She is only 30 and there is plenty of time to have more kids. Tom maybe older but there are not ticking clocks for men, are there? I guess the tabloids cannot wait for a chance to make more money of the baby stories.
I don’t care for Katie’s Model as Muse outfit or her WHCA dinner outfit. The MoM dress makes her look bulkier (which she actually pulls off just fine, since she’s so thin, but few women would want that), but the real problem is that the ruching seams appear uneven or askew somehow–the overall affect is awkward.
The WHCA dinner outfit was not as bad as many fashion commentators claimed it was, but still, the jacket was shapeless and oversized. It reminded me of the outfits the late, great Bea Arthur wore in the Golden Girls. Love Bea, but still–not a fashion icon. In many photos the seams around the shoulders appeared puckered, which is flat-out poor tailoring. I also disliked the way you could see through the fabric in the photographs–you can tell how much extra fabric is inside the seams. (That can happen in bright lights, but it’s not like Katie didn’t know she’d be photographed–she should have planned for it.) These details speak poorly for the clothes overall.

I don’t think all those sets of twins that are around in Hollywood were made naturally
Hope Katie doesn’t design any more clothes that remind people of Bea Arthur and The Golden Girls but Im sure she will learn from the mistakes and become more experienced as time goes on. For now Ilike the 2 out of the 3 we’ve seen. I hope she continues to design clothes that are age appropriate and with a bit of oomph, as Welkin pointed out the details, I remembered that Katie is not too good with details, but practice makes better.
Sorry we’ve seen 4 dresses hav’nt we, I forgot the one Katie wore on opening night.
I heard Tom say he want 10 children with Katie on magazine before,I think.
