I was really disappointed to not see Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes at the Oscars or the after parties last night. It seems Tom’s love of cars drove him to another event. The star was seen at NASCAR’s Auto Club 500 on Sunday.
Among the Hollywood stars who skipped the Oscars to brave the rain on Sunday was Tom Cruise, who starred as race driver Cole Trickle in the 1990 movie "Days of Thunder." While the cars were on the track, Cruise spent some time on Jimmie Johnson’s pit box.
I was really looking forward to seeing Katie dolled up. Boo!

I think the plan was to have an Oscar party and probably the turn out was not going to include the ELITE and so they did what every other Hollywood celebrity would do, pretend you weren’t interested in going to any Oscar party and instead take out your adopted son to the Nascar racetrack so you will look like you were interested in that instead of running into your ex wife. Not even Katie was willing to be part of this charade at the NASCAR.

he also LOVES the money generating world of
Hollywood. I don’t think Hollywood is too excited about Cruise or Katie right now. It was a good move to NOT go to the Oscars. A lot of attention was paid to the hot accessory today, women that are with child. The news and Jon Stewart tended to emphasize on that this year.
I think Suri hasn’t been seen because they are probably trying to take away the bottle and get her potty trained. She is probably no longer controllable enough to be taken outside where photographers are waiting to take pictures of her. It will be interesting to see how much more they will be able to take her out without her being photographed throwing a tantrum. From the pictures I’ve seen of her and of what I’ve read about the Scientologist laxed rules in raising children, this little girl is gonna be a handful. In my opinion, she is the only thing that is interesting about Cruise and Katie now.

These pictures are uneventful. I don’t feel sorry for him because he was extraordinarily blessed with many things and he followed the wrong path, Scientology. How foolish.
I hate to say this but I would not be surprised if Connor becomes Cruise’ personal assistant or bodyguard. Marlon Brando tried to help his sons get movie roles but they did not have the acting chops he had. Ultimately one of Brando’s sons became a bodyguard. Maybe that is where Connor is headed. I doubt he will go to college or pursue education beyond high school which means his employment opportunities will be limited and probably be with Cruise or the COS. The same goes for Isabella.

The above link is about Valerie Bertinelli and her new book Losing weight and gaining her life back one pound at a time. When you see the segment that Oprah has online about Valerie’s life and marriage to Eddie Van Halen. I must say I am disappointed. I remember being very young and watching One Day at a Time and all this time I thought Valerie was this clean cut young woman and it turns out that she was doing cocaine. And that only increased when at the age of 20, she married Eddie Van Halen. That only goes to prove what a FACADE Hollywood is. It really is all about image.
You look at Hillary Duff, Mandy Moore, Myles Cysles, etc you hope these girls have their act together yet they might be leading completely different lives.
And so with all this speculation of Cruise and Katie, the truth by be even more mortifying than the public will ever know. Good luck to Suri, Connor, and Isabella. They will forever be in the clutches of Cruise and COS.
tc is on a crusade to bring $$ into his cult. He heard NASCAR has BIG bucks. What he is too clueless to realize is that NASCAR owners and fans are TOTALLY FAMLIY ORIENTED!
Even if he tried to pull off the happy family of five, KatIE has disowned her parents and siblings and life long friends, and tommy’s mommy has walked out on her hubby and friends in Florida without saying a word.
NASCAR fans are loyal to family. Just ask Dale Jr fans about his step mama!

PuckHappy: I hope so. I believe In n Out Burgers, a restaurant franchise out here in Southern California is also family owned and oriented. People have to be able to stand up for the things that are pure and right. Hopefully not everyone can be bought and sold.
I have this feeling that Katie has seen the light and is planning her exit from this “life” with Cruise and Scientology. I have a feeling Katie has secretly been trying to extricate herself for quite some time from this nightmare. Let’s all pray she’s successful.
Did anyone see Oprah yesterday w/Valerie Bertinelli? VB said that she and Eddie VH had no real connection yet they stayed together 20 years. When asked by Oprah why she stayed in it for so long, she replied that she didn’t want to split up because she wanted everyone to believe that they were the perfect couple. She also said that she wanted to marry him because he was this famous rock star and thousands of women wanted him. She said it was a big ego boost to get him and flaunt it to his female fans. Valerie said that she and EVH never had any business getting married and that they were never really happy.
I believe this is the case with KH. She got TC’s attention by saying she would check out the CO$. To keep him interested in her, she said she would join the CO$. Katie fell in love with Tom Cruise the movie star and his $$$$. I think Katie wanted in this relationship because she wanted to flaunt it (although she didn’t realize that Tom Cruise is not the catch he once was when Nicole and he got together). I also think she will stay in it NO MATTER WHAT. She will continue being phoney and acting like they are so happy, just like VB did.
Tom will be the one to end the relationship. When he realizes that he is being used, he’ll dump her like a hot potato and he’ll keep Suri. In the Morton book, it says that when Tom is ready to end a relationship, he moves fast and doesn’t look back.

NG: It takes a lot of honestly looking at oneself to come to that point. Was VB dumped or did she leave on her own? Also, Eddie Van Halen is not a hot number any more, which will make it easier to leave and say “well, I had him when he was hot.”
Anyway, I don’t think even Nicole will admit she made a mistake with TC. The closest she did was admit that adopting was a mistake, and I wonder if that was because it was with Cruise.
No, Katie likes the goodies that Cruise can give her. Just check out her recent pics with Cruise and how she likes posing for the cameras. (Was she ever photographed this much before?) I also doubt she will ever admit she made a mistake because then she will have to admit that she intentionally got pregnant with a baby to keep her hands on the goodies–opportunistic. The only way she will leave willingly is if Cruise becomes so much of a pariah that he looses his wealth. He is already a joke!!
Cruise will dump her before ten years because even with a pre-nup community property laws kick in and Katie will then be entitled to half of the Cruise wealth, which is how Kidman walked away with so much. (I read somewhere that a lot marriages in Hollywood and with the very wealthy break up just before that 10 year mark because of CA’s community property laws. If people don’t think things are going well, they end it to protect their wealth.) Cruise tried desperately to prove they hadn’t been married over ten years when they split, but he was a month or two too late. He won’t make that mistake again, just like he didn’t with the legal agreement to raise Suri strictly Scientologist. (I mean who insists their spouse signs a legal agreement to have their child raised a certain religion anyway, besides a nutjob and a fanatic who plans to be divorced from the child’s mother?)

Battlemama: You are right on. It takes a lot of courage to admit one is wrong but what I meant was that I remembered when they were married, and before the marriage, I thought of Valerie as a clean cut kid, a role model for young American women but in reality she was not that. Her image portrayed that but not her real world.
I am glad she has gotten her life together. I can relate to her as far as weight is concerned because my weight has sometimes fluxuated throughout the years. Not like Kriste Alley’s but more like Valerie and so I think its great that TODAY she has it together. Regrets are a bit%% and I don’t think she has much regrets only about the drugs and weight gain. But its interesting how some of these Hollywood marriages are portrayed a certain way and they are totally something else.
…and no, Katie was never photographed this much. I think the number of photographers chasing a celebrity also becomes an “ego” thing.
They claim to hate the attention but they come out through the front door of the Carlyle Hotel when there are underground tunnels or back exits to avoid the press.
Wouldn’t your ego get a major boost if someone was photographing you? Mine would!
I do agree that these marriages aren’t what they seem to be and they are more PR. But, through time, the play acting becomes apparent to all who are around them. I suppose VB could stay for ten years because her husband wasn’t constantly with him…he was on tour.
The question is: At what point does one get sick of the play acting or do they all suffer from delusions for the rest of their lives because they don’t know what is real any more?

NG: I thought she also said she cheated on her husband during the twenty years as well. I think she has more regrets than just weight and drugs. She lied to this man, herself, etc. and she cheated on him. She could have admitted the mistake sooner and actually found someone she loved. Same with EVH, he could have had a chance to find someone who really loved him. She has her own selfishness to regret too, because it has hurt others.
I think KH will regret her own self-centeredness in the future as well. She is very absorb in herself now and this image that she is not only harming herself, but innocents as well.
I heard somewhere that it is sad when people do things to harm themselves and they deserve our compassion, but it is disgusting and horrific when they intentionally do these things to innocents as well and then the person doesn’t deserve much in the way compassion, only disdain. The innocents are the ones who deserve the compassion, not the perpetrator.

okay that video was HILARIOUS….but did anyone watch the ET Mad Money interview? I found myself squirming in my seat. It is absolute TORTURE to hear katie talk….she never answers the questions!!!! She just rambles on. It’s also strange how she can’t maintain eye contact. The difference between her and the other two who are completely normal and posses a quick wit. UH, did you see the looks on thier faces while she rambles on and on? I think Queen actually rolled her eyes at one point….

Reasons for Kh to avoid the exs:

Katie was reminded of that fact at HER OWN movie preview. b) She’s a successful actress. c) Nicole reminds Katie of what will happen to her and Suri when she is dumped by Cruise. “Suri, she is Katie not mommy.” Also, that joint custody means you visit by web cam while the new honey farms your kid out to Cruise’s sister to raise. d) Nicole and TC were a Hollywood Golden Couple. Well, Katie and TC–NEVER WILL BE!! e) How many mag covers has Nicole been on recently for fashion and she beat Katie out of the VOGUE cover in Dec.?
2) Sopia V and Penelope C.: a) Both successful in their own right. b) Katie only got Tc because these two walked away from TC. Katie was the last in line behind these women for the position of ‘third wife’.

what does this have to do with tc? well….it’s just really obvious there are a lot of true friendships in Hollywood…..and the thing about tc is he doesn’t appear to have any REAL friendships with people because it’s HIS JOB to recruit not only everyone he comes in contact with (even journalists) but he’s instructed on who he should target in the entertainment business. It’s disgusting.
And I think the thing that really turns people off from tc is…he has NO sense of humor, he could never do a video like that.
Nothing seems to have changed for him since his childhood..he was an outcast then…not part of the “in” crowd, and he still isn’t..he’s a total outcast from the group of A-List celebs who all seem to enjoy very real friendships with eachother….brad, george, matt, ben, don, angie, gwen etc etc.

Hide Tom hide. I like to “like” them. The more they are out and about, I feel they subsequently give us reasons not to like them. Which ruins my childhood of always liking Tom.

Zoe: I agree that they should just HIDE and enjoy life. However, that’s not Cruise’ agenda. He didn’t get married to create a family and retire. That’s the LAST THING he wants to do. He had very specific reasons to get married. I don’t know that he wanted to create a family but I do think he wanted to find a partner he would invest ($$$) in and convert her into a superstar, produce her movies thus make $$$ for Scientology and get a tax credit in the end.
I think Suri was an unexpected and welcome surprise for him. And he’s not letting her go.
I was disappointed not to see them at the Oscars. I am a huge Tomkat fan, and I think that they are great. I can’t believe all the negative comments here, but to each his own.
As for them not having any friends, they have had many celebrities defend them after the leaked cos videos. Some of them include George Clooney, Adam Sandlar, Dustin Hoffman, Penelope Cruz, etc.
As for sense of humor… I recall him running around with a fat suit on recently!
Katie has never looked more stunning and has never been more articulate. She Tom and Suri look like such a happy family. I am truly envious.
I know the majority of the posters here disagree with me, and that is fine. I just wanted to add some input from the contrasting side of this argument. I don’t think anyone is being held against their will or being brainwashed. Everyone has a right to choose their own religion and we should all respect that. As with most religions, it is easier to follow your said religion if your spouse is a member also.
Guess TC/KH weren’t completely hiding Sunday Night. Wonder who the next recruit for Scientology is: MADONNA. Or do you think it is coincidence Tomkat were at two of her parties in the last two weeks.

I can’t find any pics of those two from Sunday night at Madonna’s Party. Either the press had more important people to photograph or they did not show up but had their PR say they did.
Madonna is my guess. Read somewhere that she has been seen out and about without that red bracelet or whatever it is. Don’t think anything these people do is spontaneous. Especially events like charity events, parties, etc. According to factnet they use these times to sort of ‘meet’ another celeb in an environment that appears accidental and then make friends with them, etc.
Oh and Katie has been posing like that in the last few pics.
