I guess it makes sense that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes don’t have to pay to get married at the Odescalchi Castle considering the fact that the city is renting out balconies in the castle and nearby area for loads of money. Plus I’m sure the tourist revenue the town will gain because from this occasion would far exceed the usual $50000 it costs to rent the Castle. Here’s some information about the castle:
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s wedding, which is reportedly being held at the Castle Odescalchi in Italy, is shaping up to be a wedding fit for a king. Here’s an inside look at the castle:
Italian media are reporting that the wedding dinner will be held in the Hall of the Caesars — the castle’s biggest and most impressive room. It’s located on the first floor, with a sweeping vista of Lake Bracciano. Rumor has it that the hunting trophies that once hung inside were removed because they were deemed bad luck, as their horns signified infidelity. Today the rooms are decorated with busts of the twelve Caesars.
The Armory: Directly above the Hall of the Caesars, the room contains a collection of medieval weaponry including, swords, daggers battleaxes and suits of armor.
The Red Room, or Isabella’s Room: This room is named after the red tapestries that hang from the walls, but its name also echoes the more bloody history surrounding the boudoir where Princess Isabella de Medici, the wife of Paolo Giordano Orsini, brought her lovers and then disposed of them. Isabella would direct her lovers to hide in the cupboard where a secret trapdoor would send the occupant sliding down a chute in which razor-sharp knives had been fixed to the walls before ending up in a vat of acid.
