Top 5 Post Break-up To-Do's

Instead of dwelling over Avril Lavigne’s split from musician Deryck Whibley I decided to think of all the fun things to do while you’re single. I think this is a very positive move for the two of them and they are both going to focus on their careers. However, in the beginning you want to forget about it and just have fun.

Here are five things I like to do during a break-up:

5. Shopping: It’s totally dangerous to e-shop (emotional shop) because things can get a bit out of hand. Yet it’s totally essential during a break-up. We all know Avril likes shopping so I don’t doubt this will be on her list of post break-up to-do’s.

4.Day at the Spa/Beach: To be pampered is the ultimate luxury. Getting a massage or having your nails done is so relaxing and rewarding in the end. Avril spent a few weeks in Saint Tropez, France gallivanting along the ocean. I imagine it was very rejuvenating.

3. Indulge: With food that is. Break-ups are the perfect time to treat yourself with all of your edible guilty pleasures. For me it’s savory gourmet food whether a nice steak dinner or rich pasta dish. For many other chicks it’s chocolate! So hit up that fancy truffle shop and stock up.

2. Plan Ahead: Being single is the time to focus on yourself. To plan for YOUR future and make moves. Avril has already been doing that with her very successful clothing line. Already she has taken Abbey Dawn to an all new high by being in NY Fashion Week. Clothing line aside her music career is still strong with a new record in the works and a spotlight on American Idol as guest judge. Now that she’s single I can only imaging her career is going to blow up (in a good way)!!!

1. Friends & Family: I think this is a no brainer. In any rough situation it is our friends & family that we depend upon. But it’s your ladies that are even more important because they get you dressed up and take you out on the town to forget your ex. They give you the courage to flirt again and meet someone better. Avril has been spotted out with her girlfriends in NY having a blast. And as she has said on her blog it is her friends & family helping her through this transition.
