This season’s Top Chef is in Miami. It gives the show a bit of a tropical feel to be set there, which is an interesting change for the show.
Now it’s been announced that Top Chef 4 will be set in Chicago. According to Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune:
Bravo has ordered up another season of “Top Chef,” and the upcoming fourth edition of the show will be filmed in Chicago.
“We love moving the show from place to place; it gives it a completely different feel,” Bravo executive Frances Berwick said in an interview after announcing the news at the annual Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. “Chicago is a hotbed of great talent and it felt like the next logical step.”
Season 4 of “Top Chef” will be filmed this year, but before the brutally cold weather hits, according to Berwick. “We have figured out how to not film it in the winter – that was a prerequisite,” Berwick said.
Great news! I love Top Chef and to move it to a new city each season is an interesting idea. Keep up the great work, Bravo!
I was wondering if it is too late to try to be a contestant on Top Chef 4. How do I apply?
I am a 49 year old woman of Sicilian decent and have been cooking since I was 4 years of age!
I have done some professional cooking, but mostly cook for my pleasure and that of my friends and family. If it is too late to apply, can I be considered for an alternate should someone drop out?
Yes, it’s too late to get into season 4, but keep an eye out here. I’ll let you know when they start to cast for season 5.

How can I find out the Top Chef Season 4 contestants’ names??? I have a friend who I think is a contestant, but he won’t spill. I have to know!
Madison330: If your friend has been cast for the show and they tell, there’s a good chance they will be dropped from the cast. When Bravo decides to announce the names I’ll post them right away here. Until then, we all just have to wait. *sigh* Sorry.

I saw the fourth cast in Chicago at a local comedy club. Very interesting group, so it will be enjoyable.
