Top Jessica Simpson Moments of 2008

Jessica Simpson has had another busy year. There have been breakups, crazy interviews, and a few “ooops moments” thrown in for good measure. Would it be a Jessica year without those?!

While Ashlee has had the BIG life-changing moments in 2008 (new baby, new marriage, etc.), Jessica’s year has continued along the trek she started a few years ago when she divorced Nick Lachey. She’s trying to find herself in music and love.

Here are Jess’ top moments of 2008:

5. Became the Spokesperson for Stampede Beer

It wasn’t so much that she became a spokesperson for the company that makes this a top moment. Rather, she got a 15% stake in the company when she signed on to represent them. This is a huge deal, especially for a celeb like Jess. Now, whether the “vitamin beer” will sell is another story….

4. Reconciled With Tony Romo

Things were sketchy with Jess and Tony all year. They have had their share of breakup to makeup moments. But right before Ashlee’s wedding, Jessica and Tony had a WINGDINGER of a fight. He was tired of her dad and sick of her blabbing every detail of their life to magazines. He went to Chicago and had a guy’s night to beat all other guy’s nights. He called Jess and told her they were through. Then he hit on a girl in the bar he was at.

But Jessica wanted to stay with Tony, and she held firm. Papa Joe reportedly got involved and asked Tony to reconcile with Jess if only for the sake of Ashlee’s wedding. They did. Then they both took a few weeks apart to let things cool off.

Why is this a big moment in Jess’ life? Because anytime a couple realizes they want to be together and works things out after a big huge, end-it type argument, it shows a level of maturity that means they’re acting like adults. Jess acted like an adult.

3. Launched Fancy

Jessica has always been more successful with her products than she has with her music. Still, the success she has had with her shoe line and hair extensions have afforded her the ability to stay in music.

She continued this trend in 2008 with the launch of Fancy perfume. By all accounts, Fancy is a great smelling line that will likely continue and be successful going forward. Can another fragrance be far behind?

2. Crossover to Country

Jessica has indicated that her heart has always been in country music. (Of course she’s said that about Christian music as well, but….) Making the crossover to country was not an easy thing. Jessica had to play several county fairs and smaller venues in order to make her voice heard among the already established country fans. But she has vowed to continue in country no matter what, and that is very brave.

1. Moved in With Tony Romo

Jessica has dated plenty of guys since leaving Nick Lachey, but the relationship with Tony seems different. Not only have they worked out their differences, but they’ve made a huge statement of commitment by moving in together. It’s clear Jessica is in love with Tony and wants to get married. Moving in with him is a step in that direction.
