Top Model Named a Reality TV Show of the Decade

ABC put together their top 10 reality television shows of the decade list earlier today. Making the list? Why America’s Next Top Model, of course!

Not only did the show establish Tyra Banks as a television personality to be reckoned with, it paved the way for modeling and fashion shows of the future. It also keeps the CW Network alive, which is a big feat in itself.

Also making the list were Survivor, The Bachelor, The Apprentice, Extreme Makeover, The Biggest Loser, The Hills and Jon & Kate Plus 8.

I must say, I completely agree with the list. The only omissions that bothers me are The Amazing Race and Project Runway, but they didn’t define a genre of reality television the way the shows that did make the list did. I think that’s what this list was going for – television-changing shows, not high-quality ones.
