Top Ten Things We Love About J-Lo

Since this is a new blog about Jennifer Lopez, I thought it only fitting that we should celebrate the things we love about her.  Here are my top ten.

10.  She’s proven that it’s possible to move on successfully from a public relationship.  I mean, honestly, have any of us ever had to deal with something as gigantic and bloated as “Bennifer”?

9.  She kept trying when it came to love.  Say what you want about her three marriages (and one massive engagement), she didn’t just throw in the towel the first time love escaped her.  She kept at it and is now in a happy marriage.  I know a lot of people that complain about love but do nothing to change their situation.

8.  She defies the typical “Hollywood” image.  Sure, she’s glamorous and sexy, but she’s also not your average stick thin babe.  (And we love her for it.)  As a Latina beauty, she’s helped redefine what a successful Hollywood actress should be.

7.  She’s an all-around entertainer.  Many stars have tried to cross over to other areas (singers to actresses and vice versa) but she had the talent and drive to pull it off.

6.  She embraces change.  Her look, her music, and her acting roles have expanded as time has gone on.  This is great for her fans because she’s definitely not boring!

5.  She’s learned from her mistakes.  Speaking of the “B” word (Bennifer, that is) she’s handled her relationship with Marc Anthony very different from the way she did with Ben Affleck.

4.  She created the power name that stuck.  Sure, she says her fans were the first ones to introduce the name “J-Lo,” but she took it and ran with it.  (And wouldn’t we all love to be called by a single name?)

3.  She sings, dances, acts, and creates (successful perfume brands, clothing lines, and a restaurant).  Did I leave anything out?

2.  She’s part diva, part down home girl.  She chooses songs that describe her attitude toward life.  Lest we forget, she reminds us that she’s “real” and “Jenny from the block” as much as she’s that glamorous thang with the cute hubby on her arm.

1.  She’s got working-class drive.  No amount of talent will get you to the top.  You’ve got to work for it, and sometimes, push for it.  She does.
