Toy Shopping With Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Life & Style mag has a listing of what this beautiful power couple purchased on December 8 at Lee’s Art Shop in NYC, but let me just say, it appears the majority of it was stuff they could play with or build together (insert collective sigh here). They spent less than $100 and the store closed off the entire 4th floor so they could shop in peace. So, while the store didn’t make much money that day, I can guarantee you they are loving the fact that their store is being mentioned in all the gossip news as a place celebs shop for their tots. Lucky store…

I love this! I love it because it makes me think of my husband and son and I know what they are feeling right at that moment. It’s a bonding moment with families and it’s not about being rich or famous. In fact, it’s a little sad that people can’t leave them in peace and let them just shop and enjoy their kids without ten billion flashbulbs exploding and toddlers getting trampled by rude, nasty, paparrazzi creeps. Half the fun I have is watching my son Jonah connect with the other kids in the toy department. I know without hearing her that Zahara is holding that toy up and saying, “Look Dada! Elmo!” (or whatever it is) That’s what Jonah would say. I see Zahara and I wish my husband and I could have another baby or two, although I doubt I could keep up with this family’s pace even with twice the money and none of the problems. It’s a miracle that these two people ever even connected. Add to that three healthy, beautiful kids, a deep and committed love for each other and their children being the focus of that, careers, charity work, committed political views, etc, and anyone should be in awe. It doesn’t even matter that these people are who they are, it’s what they strive to be that matters. Some people see two movie stars shutting down a store to buy their kids a few toys, I see something very different. I see something that I am very lucky to have in my own life, a mate who shares with me my goals and my loves, who is an equal partner in the raising of my children and who shares my concerns and worldview. Too many kids in this world have absentee parents: deadbeat dads, moms who want other people to raise their kids while they party, parents who for no fault of their own have to work two or three jobs just to barely make it because their partner quit the family, etc. This picture is a celebration, and frankly, it makes me happy.

i don’t think they asked the store to be closed so they can shop in private.
i saw the pictures of them in popsugar with other buyers in the store. and yes the other buyers are common people like US who also shoped there. this life & style report could be a lie to discredit them.
oh and greg, IT IS CUTE to see Zahara walking by her self picking her own toy. i still see it adorable to see how this little lady grow up healthy. and YES SHE”S LUCKY becuz angie and brad picked her from the orphanage. as we know (but i don’t think you do) the other baby that slept next to zahara in that place, was finally passed away. have a good day!!

What’s so cute about it? ALL PARENTS TOY SHOP FOR THEIR KIDS. and ALL TOYS ARE EITHER SOMETHING TO PLAY WITH OR BUILD — THAT’S THEIR DEFINITION.

What is bad about this is that celebrities don’t mind stores closing down for them during the busiest part of the year. Other parents need to shop for their kids too. Just because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are rich, famous, and well-traveled, doesn’t make them better parents than anyone else. It doesn’t even make them or their children luckier because who’s to say that the life they lead of more quality than that of parents who work for years just to have one family vacation.

Let’s give credit where credit is due…and it’s not to celebrities like the Jolies and Pitts. It’s to everyday people who don’t get dealt great hands…it’s to people like us!

I wonder if Santa brings the presents – with sugar plums and sparkling angel bringers of gifts of love and peace with light for the new year!
