T.R. Knight at GLAAD Awards

Apparently, T.R. Knight was “nearly brought to tears” by the standing ovation he received at the GLAAD Awards.

“I am angry very angry at the inequality that we face every day,” said Knight, who acknowledged his homosexuality in October after being called a slur by castmate Isaiah Washington. “I hope I can turn my anger into action. One of those actions is me being here tonight.”

But earlier on the red carpet, Knight was upbeat and laughing over his Grey’s character, George, hooking up with Izzie, played by his pal and vocal supporter Katherine Heigl. “It was our characters who slept together, not us,” clarified Knight. “Her fianc wouldn’t be happy with me otherwise.”

Curiously, Heigl who had walked the carpet in an Armani dress, disappeared from the Kodak Theatre at the conclusion of Knight’s speech, noted castmate Sara Ramirez. Also conspicuously absent: Washington, who is scheduled to sit down with the rest of the cast on Monday to read the script for the season finale.

I wonder where Heigl disappeared to? Heh.
