Grey’s Anatomy’s T.R. Knight has signed on to participate in this year’s National Day of Silence ceremony. The event will be held at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex in Los Angeles, and is being sponsored by GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network).
For those of you who don’t know much about National Day of Silence, the annual event began twelve years ago at the University of Virginia, when a group of students decided to call attention to anti-LGBT harrassment occuring in schools. This year, the day of silence falls on April 25, 2008 (tomorrow), and as always, is marked by students and people around of the nation taking vows of silence.
This year’s event is dedicated to Lawrence King, the 15–year-old boy who was shot to death by a fellow student for being gay.
