Stephen Moyer stopped by The View to talk to the ladies about the second season of True Blood, which premieres this Sunday. I’m really looking forward to it and I was really excited to see him on the show.
Whoopi Goldberg asked him what he thought about all of the vampire stories and movies that are cropping up everywhere these days. He explained that these themes and plots have been around for a while and, although their popularity waxes and wanes, it’s never really gone away. I think he’s got a point. I know that things really kicked off with Nosferatu (1922) and I can remember all the hype around movies like Interview With the Vampire and Bram Stoker’s Dracula in the early 1990s. Right now, it just happens to be all about True Blood and Twilight.
Joy Behar asked if Stephen ever gets approached by people who really think he’s a vampire or ask him to do weird things like bite them. After joking around a little bit with Barbara Walters, he told a story about a woman in a dog park who had named her dog “Sookie” after Anna Paquin’s character on True Blood. He also talked about how the nude scenes with Anna can get a bit hot and heavy since they are dating in real life. It was a very interesting interview so, if you’re a fan, check it out!
