Black Enterprise Magazine has included Tyra Banks in its list of “America’s Most Powerful Players Under 40″, alongside other “bold, young innovators who are transforming the worlds of business, entertainment, media, sports, and politics.” The reason for her inclusion appears to go beyond her beauty, according to BlackEnterprises.com:
Since becoming the first African American woman to grace the covers of such publications as GQ, Sports IIlustrated’s swimsuit issue and the Victoria’s Secret catalogue, Banks’ stardom has steadily risen to high proportions. This supermodel, actress, author, singer, producer, and more recently talk show host, is proving to her adoring fans she is more than just a pretty face, but rather an attractive businesswoman.
Forbes lists Banks as one of its top 100 celebrities for 2005 and she is said to have made $6 million in income between June 2004 and June 2005. Her finances may change for the better, considering some of her current dealings.
Well that’s certainly true. Tyra’s been taking the entertainment sector by storm for a long time, and I doubt she’s got any plans to stop any time soon. Even if her talk show flops miserably (which it might), and even if she says goodbye to the catwalk (which she has), I’m fairly certain she’s not going anywhere.
