Ugly Betty Episode 2.04 Re-Airs Tonight

Ugly Betty 2.04Only one more week till a new episode of Ugly Betty, and one more day till Michael Urie’s Miss America Reality Check airs, but for tonight, ABC is re-airing one of my favorite episodes: Grin and Bear It.  This one had Victor Garber as an over-the-top writing instructor, and introduced America to Kenny the Accountant (played hilariously by John Cho).  Also, we have the easily despised slimeball played by Dawson Creek’s Jame Van Der Beek, and some great acting all around.

If you haven’t seen it, and even if you have, watch!  This episode shows what is best about the show this year – the writing was top notch for this one, and they let others have the best laughs, besides the regulars.

As a side note, I’m probably going to respond to Brent Bozell’s HIGHLY uncalled-for lambasting of Ugly Betty, either later tonight or early tomorrow.  I wanted to let a little time pass, because I was too angry, and also because I want to keep my commentary solely to defense of the show (we don’t do politics here).  I want to be very careful and measured in how I respond.  However, you can be assured that when I do post it, you’re going to see your first rant out of me.

I really wanted there to be some story twist that Victor Garber’s character was Henry’s dad….but no such luck. I thought maybe his mom could have had an affair with her college professor and this was him…maybe moved from AZ to NY and somehow in the story of Betty being in school, it would have come out…..alas, no such luck.
